I went inside and to my surprise, everybody was home. Usually it would be one person that would be missing, but everyone is complete.

I walked inside the dining room and Chase invited me to eat. "How was work today?" he asked. Sean looked at me with a surprised expression, "You work now?"

I laughed at his reaction, "Yes I do, I actually got hired on the spot at Red Fish by this sweet grandma. She's super sweet." Sean gave me a high five, "Good for you."

Chase cleared his throat, "And not only that, she already met this guy. And he's already walking her home!" Sean looked at me once more but with a teasing smile. "So who's this guy?" Devin jumping in.

I got a bit uncomfortable due to the pressure, "Well- uh, his name is Nick. And we're just friends! But he's really sweet and nice."

Chase and Sean took that information in with content, as for Devin. He was wanting more.

We all finished eating dinner and I was doing the dishes while Sean was drying them for me. My sleeves began to roll back down, "Sean could you please roll up my sleeves for me, I don't want to get them wet." he stood beside me and as he rolled them up, he saw the burn on my arm.

"WHAT THE-" he began to make unpleasant noises, gagging.

"Oh it's from my work, I just got burned." I nervously laughed. He stormed off to the bathroom and Devin approached me. He grabbed my arm, "Did you burn yourself?" he asked. I shook my head, "No it was actually from a customer, she threw the bowl of soup at me for serving her the wrong order. But it's okay now!" with a smile planted onto my face. Distracting him from the burn on my arm.

He let go of my arm and frowned, "You shouldn't be working in that environment. Quit tomorrow." I looked up at him with confusion and soon anger, "Wait what? No it's okay really! Nick handled it and-" he cut me off,

"Nick this, Nick that! Do you really think a guy who you just met cares if you've hurt yourself?"

We both stood there, angry with each other. I shook my head and scoffed at him, "Yeah, I do think he cares." and walked off to my room.

I shut the door and laid down on my bed.

I sighed and closed my eyes. It's just a burn anyways? It'll get better over time. Not that big of a deal. There's plenty of things to be worried about other than a burn. So why is it such a big deal to him? Whatever.

'Ding Ding' I opened my eyes and looked over at my phone. It was a message from Nick.

"How's your arm doing? Have you put cream over it? :<"

"Not yet, I'll do it once I'm ready to go to bed. :)"

"Have fun at work tomorrow. Don't stress yourself out too much!!! :<"

"I won't! Goodnight now :>"

"Goodnight Cynthia ;)"

I closed my phone and got up from my bed to shower.

I finished my shower and began to do my skincare. I put my hair in my towel.

I stepped out of my room to grab a glass of ice water to help with my skin. I turned on the lights and grabbed a glass and brought it over to the fridge. I watched as the fridge dispensed water into the glass. I opened the freezer and grab 4 ice cubes and put it inside the cup.

I was about to head back inside my room when I heard one of the doors opening. I stole a quick glance and it was Devin. I proceeded to go inside my room.

A couple minutes went by and there was a knock on my door. I got up from my bed and opened it slightly. "What?" I asked Devin.

"Could I come in?" I raised my eyebrow at him, "Uhm- no?" I start to close my door again but he stopped it with his hand. "Please?"

I sighed and walked towards my bed. He went inside my room and closed the door behind me. We both sat at the ends of my bed, away from each other.

It was silent at first, but he began to say, "I'm sorry about earlier. I was just worried because I don't fully trust that guy. I thought if you continued to work at that place, you'd hurt yourself more." I took a deep breath in and exhaled, "Devin, I understand and appreciate your concern, but I'm okay. Nick and his grandma are really sweet people towards me and to everybody else."

He nodded his head, "Okay, again I'm sorry. I'm sure they are kind people. I'd like to meet this Nick guy, maybe he's the one for you." I smiled at him and thanked him for supporting and understanding me, he left my room and it was that.
