It was the next day and I was feeling super refreshed as soon as I woke up. I was excited to go to work but I had just remembered that it'll just be me and Mrs. Grajeda today. It's Nick's day off.

I don't mind, but I would love some company. More specifically: Nick's.

I didn't bother eating breakfast, I just up and left, and went to work.

On the way there it was calm, until I got interrupted with a car honking beside me. I turned to the car and watched as the window rolled down. "Get in!" it was Christine and Devin.

I went to the back and made myself comfortable. "Where do you work?" Christine asked me. "Red Fish." she gave me a thumbs up and punched the directions on her phone and placed it on the holder for Devin to read.

It was okay at first, Christine and Devin had their usual 'couple' talk while still trying to include me. But when Christine received a text notification on her phone, Devin's whole mood immediately shifted.

"Who's that?" Devin asked Christine. She laughed nervously, "What do you mean?" he pointed to her phone. "The guy who just texted you? The one asking you if you were alone?"

I didn't want to involve myself in a situation that never included me in the first place, so I stayed put and quiet: minding my own business.

I shut their argument out with my airpods and looked out of the window until we arrived at my work place.

When we arrived I took off my seatbelt and quickly opened the car door to get out, "Thank you for the ride!" as I closed the door behind me and sped off to the restaurant.

I didn't look back at them once.

Work turned out surprisingly well without Nick. I managed to serve the tables without any mistakes this time. And with Mrs. Grajeda always shooting me with compliments, it boosted my confidence to work harder.

As I finished closing up the restaurant, Nick's messages popped up on my phone. I opened it:

"Want to eat out? Maybe have some tteok-bokki? Street food? :p"

I smiled at his text, "Yes I'd love to :)"

"I'll come pick you up in 5. :)"

I hearted the message and waited for him outside of the restaurant.

Soon, a car pulled up in front of the restaurant, I got up and walked over to the car. Nick was inside and he pointed at the passenger seat beside him. I got inside and closed the door behind me.

"All this time you had a car?" I said jokingly. He laughed at my reaction, "Well.. you seemed to enjoy walking so I walked with you this whole time." I gently hit him on the shoulder. "Don't make me walk anymore." giving him puppy eyes. He shot a smile at me, "Yes ma'am."

We drove around and soon parked near the street food we were going to eat at. He got out of the car quickly and ran to my side and opened the door. I act surprised and placed my hand over my mouth, "Oh why, thank you! You kind stranger." he closed the door behind me and signaled his hand for me to lead the way. "Of course, my lady."

We laughed at each other knowing we are so unserious.

We went up to the truck that was selling street food and ordered some tteok-bokki with radish and fish balls.

We went back to the car and ate there. "Do you like it?" he asked me, waiting for my approval. My mouth was stuffed already, I could only let out an, "Mhm."

He giggled at my stuffed face and wiped the side of my lip with his hand. "Sorry there was just some sauce on there, it bothered me." I frowned at him. "It bothered you? Will it bother you if I put more sauce on you?" I dipped my finger in the cup and scooped out some sauce. He looked at me and I looked down at my finger and back at him, a smirk grew on my face.
