Chapter 1

KHUSHI'S POV -:

I am having a nightmare .

A flashback - ARE YOU CRYING AGAIN KHUSHI ??
Everyone started laughing on me and someone called me a crybaby . I felt awful .

Then i woke up and consoled myself that it was just a dream .
JUST A DREAM ....

Nightmares like these keep following me year after year no matter how much time has passed by since then .

I wasn't able to get rid of HIS face .

Its haunting me over and over again .

I take a deep breath and calm myself down

My mom and I had moved away after elementary school. I had been homeschooled all this time which I was thankful for as my time in school hadn't exactly been the greatest .

But now i was back and THRILLED to be in high school again .

My mom thought it was a great idea for me to go back to a normal school and make new friends. I guess she was worried about me being all by myself everyday .

I didn't even mind . I liked being alone , the silence , the peacefulness . All of it was about to be shattered to pieces .

BUT I HAD A PLAN .

I was determined to leave my past self , hidden and locked away forever .

Nobody could know about me and how I was back then .

A LOSER ... An OUTCAST .

I was going to start fresh and fit in for once .

Now i want to be popular and admired by my new classmates.

Mom - KHUSHI YOU NEED TO GET READY !!

YESS MOMM !!

I got up and quickly chose an outfit for my first day at school !!

MY OUTFIT

Mommy i am leaving !!

Mom - I made breakfast! You gotta eat something first !!

As i was already late i skipped breakfast and left for school .

My mom wanted to tell me something but i had already left !

I reached school and i didn't know it it was a dream or a nightmare .

I reached school and my classmates liked my outfit .

Being back in an actual school i realised more and more how difficult this PLAN of mine would be .

I forgot how scary school was . How everybody already belonged to a group .

A group of popular cheerleaders , the jocks panting after them , the gamers and the rebels.

WHERE WOULD I HAVE BELONGED TEN YEARS AGO ??

Probably there all by myself .
But its different now . I tried to convince myself .

I decided to befriend the gamers .

I was about to visit them but a girl collided with me and fell .

Everyone around me started laughing at her and i remembered this laugh THIS TRAUMATISING LAUGH . I should help her as she doesn't deserve to be treated like that .

I picked up her books and helped her stand up . She said Thankyou and went away . I got confused and went for my first lesson .

I convinced myself that I can do this and HE isn't with me any longer .

Teacher - You're the new student right ?

Yes maam im khushi .

Teacher - Please take a seat .

I took a seat when the girl whom i helped came into the class and sat beside me .

Her name was Chhavi and we introduced each other . I liked her confidence.

The teacher began with the lesson . The topic was greek mythology.

The teacher asked me to tell three important figures i knew of ?

I didn't know the answer but chhavi helped me answer it .
MAAM ITS ATHENA , ARES , APHRODITE .

The teacher was happy with my answer . I felt different as i was being home schooled for years

The school bell rang and it was time for another lesson .

I introduced myself to the second teacher and to the class .

Hello everyone im khushi . I have already seen the stares but don't be too intimidated by me . I don't bite . Only sometimes 😃.

Everyone was impressed and the teacher asked me to take a seat in the second row .

I sat there and my seatmate introduced himself ( Nathan ) . He asked me the reason for changing schools . I told him i was home schooled .

Nathan - AND NOW YOU'RE SICK OF NOT FINDING ANY CUTE BOYS ??

Me - MAYBE 😉

Nathan - You are cute !! How about you and I meet after school and chill ??

Me - (Is he for real ?) Excuse me ? No thanks .

Nathan - Oh c'mon .

Someone came from behind and shouted that you're in my spot .

Chills ran down my spine.

Nathan - What ??

Him - I SAID YOU'RE IN MY SEAT !!

I recognised that voice . It was so different from back then . So much deeper . But i could still feel who it was . I could still feel his strong presence behind me .

My hands started shaking .
Maybe im wrong, maybe its someone else . Yes Ofcourse its someone else !! How could it be him out of all people? Thats ridiculous!

Nathan - oh shit !! Im sorry sidharth. I forgot this was your seat . And nathan ran !!

SIDHARTH. MY EARS STARTED RINGING AS SIDHARTH TOOK HIS SEAT RIGHT NEXT TO ME .

The boy I tried running away from all my life .
The boy who never left me alone . The boy who had made life HELL for me .
