The bell finally rings and Kora plops down in her usual seat. Calculus is the only class where Kora feels lost. She is not particularly bad at math, but it's always a struggle for her. Ironically, this is the only class where Kenneth doesn't struggle, math always made sense to him. As he walks in, he makes direct eye contact with Kora, which is new for both of them. She looks down to avoid his gaze but he sits behind her.

She immediately freezes in her seat. What could he possibly want? He's never even acknowledged her existence before, now he's trying to get her attention. Kora tries her best to focus, but the letters and numbers on the board start to get blurry. She raises her hand to ask for a bathroom pass and calmly walks out of the classroom.

What is going on today? She thought to herself. Elena was acting weird, and now her brother. Up until now, Kora has done a pretty good job at being a wallflower. She attends classes and leaves, simple as that. She definitely belongs in the second category of high school students, and getting attention from someone like Kenneth could ruin everything.

She heads back to class, and the rest of the period feels like torture in her teenage mind. When the bell finally rings for lunch, she rushes out of the classroom and heads for the cafeteria.

"Wait up, Kora!" Kenneth yells across the hallway.

Trying to ignore him, she walks even faster. But, he catches up with her.

"Hey, are you ignoring me?" He asked with a grin on his face.

"No, just really hungry." She says quickly, hoping he would just go away.

Kenneth is not one to take no for an answer, and continues to talk to her. He goes on to ask her to meet him in the parking lot right after school ends.

"Why?" She asks, desperate for a way out of this interaction.

"I need to talk to you about something, it's important," Kenneth says quietly.

"Okay...whatever you have to say, just tell me now," she starts to get annoyed.

"It's a sensitive issue, we can't talk now, just meet me outside at 2 pm" he explains and walks away.

She stood there for a moment, feeling she's in an alternate universe where Kenneth Danes just asked her to meet him after school. Her head was spinning, she needed to talk to Bethany.
