Leonard Gets A Date

A/N: Season 2, Episode 2

The guys are walking up the stairs after returning from a Renaissance fair. Sheldon complains about the historical inaccuracy. 

"Renaissance fairs aren't about historical accuracy. They're about taking chubby girls who work at Kinko's and lacing them up in corsets so tight their bosom jumps out and says 'Howdy'." Howards tells Sheldon 

"Bosoms would not have said, 'Howdy', in the 15th Century. If anything, they would've said, 'Huzzah'."

"I don't care what the bosoms say, Sheldon. I just wanna be part of the conversation."

Penny and some guy walk down the stairs meeting the guys. 

"Hi, guys. Looks like you've been to the Renaissance fair. I'm hoping."

"Renaissance fair? More like a medieval-slash-Age of Enlightenment-slash-any-excuse-to-wear-a-codpiece fair."

"Okay, fine, whatever." Penny turns to the guy. "Um, you guys, this is my friend Eric."

"Hello," they say in unison.

"Hey," Eric says. 

Leonard looks jealously at them. 

"So, yeah, good to see you."

"Yeah. Yeah, it's good to see you too."

"We should probably go."

"Yeah."

"Bye, guys."

"Like your hat," Eric says to Howard. 

"Thanks, my mom made it."

Howard turns to Leonard.

"Penny with a new guy. Très awkward."

Sheldon, Raj and Howard start moving up the stairs.

"It wasn't awkward. It wasn't fun."

Leonard follows. 

"Besides, what's the big deal?"

"Well I'm just wondering how Y/N is feeling about all this. Him and Penny are obviously close and would be amazing together. I don't want him to get hurt."

"Y/N will be fine, he's a big boy."

They all walk into Leonard and Sheldon's apartment to see Y/N working out.

"Oh hey guys! Penny stopped by with her friend Eric."

"We met them on the stairs."

"Nice guy." Y/N says with a smile. 

"So that's why you're working out?"

"I always work out everyday, I just usually do it at Penny's but she said she was having someone over so I came here."

He puts the weights down, wiping the sweat from his forehead. 

The next day, Y/N is in Penny's apartment cooking breakfast. Eric walks out of the bedroom and sees him.

"Hi.."

"Hey Eric. Want any?"

"Nah, got to get to work. Tell Penny I'll call."

Eric reaches for the door.

"You'd better or it won't be good for you." Y/N mutters.

"What?"

"Nothing, see ya."

Eric leaves and Y/N rolls his eyes, dishing up breakfast and putting it on the tray with a glass of water and aspirin.
