~ some nights later ~

I turned the key, unlocking my front door. I had a long day at work, and all I could think about was coming back home to Tayleigh.

After setting my things down in the kitchen, I headed towards my bedroom. "Bae, I'm home." I voiced, approaching my room door. I noticed there was a small crack in the door.

I opened the door and walked into the room. I practically forgot how to breathe as I paused in my steps.

Tayleigh laid there lifeless in bed, blood everywhere. There were a few gunshot wounds on her body. "Tayleigh!" I immediately screamed, shaking.

"Tayleigh! No, Tayleigh..." I screamed and cried, running over and holding her.

"Please wake up. Wake baby, please." I cried.

"Destiny! Wake up!" Tayleigh shook me out of my sleep with a sense of urgency. I woke up from the realistic, yet terrifying nightmare. I couldn't help but scream a little.

"Are you okay?" I panicked, pulling the sheets off Tayleigh and scanning her body. "I'm fine. Are you?" she made me look at her.

Just looking at her, I immediately broke down crying. Tayleigh pulled me into her arms and hugged me tightly. "It's okay mama. I'm here. I got you." she whispered.

I continued to cry and hyperventilate real bad.

Tayleigh continued to rock me in her arms for a while, until I finally calmed down. Eventually I pulled away and wiped the tears from my eyes.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" Tayleigh asked, but I didn't answer. "You had one of those fucked up nightmares again? Who was it about? Your brother?" she proceeded to ask.

I looked at her, uneasy.

I then shook my head no, looking down. "Then who?" Tayleigh wondered. I slowly looked at her, tears streaming down my face.

"Oh...me?" she took my hand in hers. "I thought it was real. It felt real and I was scared-" I broke down crying again. "But it's not. I'm right here." Tayleigh cupped my chin.

I pulled away, pushing her away as well.

"Yea, for now." I shook my head, standing up while wiping my eyes. "But I don't know that for sure. I don't know if something's gonna happen to you..." I trailed off, trying not to cry.

"Baby, nothings gonna happen to me. I'm good." Tayleigh said, walking up behind me.

"You don't know that. I don't know that. None of us know Tayleigh. You're not safe and I can't live feeling uneasy every time you're away." I stated.

"The thought or feeling that you might not come home is too much. It's overwhelming. And I don't think I can continue to do this for much longer." I continued to express.

"So, what are you saying?" Tayleigh asked.

I turned to look at her. "I'm saying...I want you to stop. Stop selling drugs. Stop stealing and trading illegal shit. All of it. I want you to stop, because I want you here with me." I explained.
