Chapter Seventeen

NAT HAD BEEN WAY TO FIXATED on the TV, she just couldn't wrap her head around the fact that the guy she's been online friends with for less than a year is the son of the fucking president.

He never told her, but to be fair she wasn't upset about that as it dawned on her why he wouldn't. He wanted someone to talk to and be friends with that didn't know he's the son of the most known man of America.

She understood why but it wouldn't have changed anything, she honestly wouldn't have cared either way.

The group had been talking about Chucky and Nat had finally peeled her eyes away from the TV and down to her phone.

"Hey guys, I may have an idea on how to get into the white house," she spoke up, interrupting their conversation.

She turned to them, "did you find a way in?" Jake asked.

Nat narrowed her eyes, "Jake. This isn't some spy movie, I can't just figure out a way to break into the most secure house in America," she scoffed, shaking her head, "no. I have something else. A private invite," she smiled. She doesn't want to use Grant like this but the two had been talking about meeting up for the longest time and maybe it's about time they do.

The three glanced at each other, waiting for Nat to continue, she turned her phone around showing an instagram photo of Grant, "this is the president's very obsessed with socials son, Grant," she introduced.

Jake imitated a meow, his hand imitated a cat claw, and Nat scoffed.

"He is cute," Devon added. The boys quickly turned to each other, "well, he's not as cute as you.

"Doesn't even compare."

"Anyway, he's our way in," she interjected, turning her phone back around.

"And how exactly do you know this kid?" Lexy asked.

"Right... Funny story, so we actually became friends almost about a year ago and we just got really close," she replied.

Jake blinked, surprised, "you became friends with the president's son? Why didn't you tell us?"

"The thing is, I didn't know he's the president's son until I saw him on TV..." She chuckled.

"You never told us about him anyways," Lexy responded, sounding slightly hurt.

"I know... I just. For this past year we've been working our asses of trying to find Caroline and Chucky that I was beginning to miss the times before Chucky, they may not have been good," she briefly glanced at Jake and he shared the same solemn look she had, "but there was no killer doll, no one died and I just wanted to have something normal so when I met Grant, I thought I could have that. I guess in a way, we both had comfort knowing that we were dealing with shit and we were each other's escape," she shrugged.

Jake didn't waste a second embracing his sister, "we didn't know you felt like that," he sighed.

She wrapped her arms around him, "yeah. I wish you would've told me. I would've definitely made more time with you," Lexy mentioned.

Nat pulled away, smiling up at Jake thankful, before turning to Lexy, "it's not your fault. You were just trying to find your sister and I said I would help you find her no matter what, and I know we will. I just needed something to distract me from my own stuff, not anything to do with you, I promise," she smiled, stepping closer to Lexy and planting a kiss on the blonde's cheek.
