    CHRISTMAS HAD ROLLED AROUND rather quickly and for the past month or so. The kids had been doing community service seeing as the Catholic school shut down and community service was the next best thing to work off the crime.

Nat and Lexy hadn't seen each other for a while and Jake thought it would be fun to surprise Lexy with Nat for christmas.

Lexy and Jake had soon arrived back at Lexy's house and Devon and Nat were hiding, waiting for them to return. They both found out that Jake and Lexy were surprising each other, which was quite amusing.

Nat and Devon soon heard voices coming from downstairs and they quietly walked down, "surprise," Devon smiled, appearing on the stairs.

Lexy gasped upon seeing Nat. Devon quickly walked over to Jake, hugging him and once Nat made it down the stairs, Lexy didn't waste a second hugging Nat, "oh my god. I missed you so much," Lexy muttered, swinging them from side to side.

"Me too," Nat chuckled.

"So did you miss me?" Devon asked.

"Uh, yeah, I missed you. So what's been going on?" Nat and Lexy pulled away, smiling at the boys.

"God damn it, Alexandra. Why do you do this to me? I was live streaming to 100 thousand followers," Mrs. Cross complains.

Lexy and Nat exchange a glance, "what's the problem? Wouldn't taking in three orphans at Christmas make you look even more charitable and mayor-like? Say, normal to your followers?"

"I can't do this with you today, okay? I can't do this. I'm walking away. I'm done," she storms off and Lexy shakes her head. She turns back to Nat, her eyes flickering to Nat's lips for a second, but she clears her throat, remembering that Jake and Devon are standing inches away from them.

"Hi," Lexy smiled. Devon and Jake share a laugh, "um, Merry Christmas, Jake," Lexy gestures to Devon.

"I'm your present."

"From me," Lexy added with a pleased smile.

"Well my present from me was Nat," Jake chuckled.

"It's a great ones. I'll treasure it forever," Lexy winked and Nat smiled, her cheeks going a light shade of pink.

"And this is from me," Devon handed Jake a present.

"Oh, wow. Thank you. Um, I have to go out for a while," Jake said, walking towards the door. Nat furrowed her eyebrows.

"You just got here."

"Yeah, I... I know. Um, I just... I have to get your present," he responded.

"You're my present,"

"Yeah, but I'm from Lexy. You know, we're both presents from Lexy. You know, this is from you to me, so, you know, I have to reciprocate."

"Jake, you're making this way too complicated. I just wanna spend time with you. That's all I want for Christmas," Devon reassured him.

Nat and Lexy looked at each other, feeling a slight awkward tension between the boys. Clearly they are still weird from their time at the Incarnate Lord.

"Look, I know. Me too. But you're gonna love this. I promise, okay? Look, I'll be right back. See you in a bit, and Merry Christmas," he leaves and Devon turns back to the girls and they just shrug.
