Take a look at my girlfriend, she's the only one I got. Not much of a girlfriend, I never seem to get a lot --- Gym Class Heroes

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" Oh My Gosh Trey, that was amazing!" the cutest, most average girl said as she held her hand out for me to shake. "I'm Madeline" I smirked and kissed her hand instead of shaking it. I watched her melt in front of me.

"thanks" I said.

"yeah, you got some skills" her friend said. We already knew each other though. Her name was Tamera. She was in my precalc class last year. She's smart so I always copied off her...and she let me

I looked at Omari and Jarell staring at them, most likely rating them for judgment day which occurs in a couple of days. The most important day in a tweeners social life, when they are summoned by one of us to move up the social ladder. So we'd be having a swarm of tweeners kissing our asses. The guys always judged the girls and the girls judged the guys.

Omari and Jarell both shook their heads no at me which means they'd been rejected.

"well it was nice talking to you ladies." I said as nicely as I could before we walked away from them to another basket.

"they seemed nice, why didn't you guys like them?" I asked even though I already knew the answer.

"too plain" Omari responded bluntly as he dribbled the ball.

"Tamera was close, but Madeline is just not popular material" Jarell elaborated.

We shot around for a little bit which got boring, so I showered and changed.

Well today, Dawn and I have been officially dating for a month and finally I can end it. I never date these girls more than a month. None of them are right for me so I don't want to lead them on thinking I actually love them.

I waited at Dawn's locker for her after second period. I watched Skylar glide carelessly down the hallway. As popular as I am, I probably don't even exist in her eyes. I sighed and leaned against the locker.

"hey baby" dawn's voice brought me out of my thoughts. She tried to kiss me but I stepped away.

"hey Dawn"

"What's wrong?" she asked with a worried face.

"we need to talk"

"about what?" she asked as if she didn't already know, but I've been doing this for years, she should.

"I think our ship has sailed."

"what? Were we supposed to be going on a cruise?"she smiled. "Aww baby. For our one month anniversary right? That's ok. We can just catch a plane to its first destination. I wish you had told me earlier because I need to pack and go shopping and—"

Man this girl is dumb. I cut her off not being able to go on with her rambling.

"no! I mean I'm breaking up with you!" I yelled at her.

"what the fuck Trey?" she screamed. "and on our damn monthaversary"

I watched a tear slip down her cheek and she took no time running down the hall into the bathroom. I went to my locker down the hall to look for my waiting list of popular girls and crossed Dawn's name off. Next on the list is...Mercedes. I'll start on her tomorrow, just to give Dawn some time to get herself together. I shut my locker and went to class.

The day went by nicely. I had another class, creative writing, with Skylar. She doesn't sit near me though. Now you're probably wondering why a jock is taking a wimpy ass creative writing class but the answer is simple. Mrs. Greatly teaches it for one and because it's easier than plain English, no essays.

I got to our elite table in the courtyard. It's in the center of all the action. We can sit in the center of all the action. We can see everyone and everyone can see us. The only people who sit here is me, one of my jump offs, Jarell and Candace, Omari who's currently single but obviously likes Candace's friend Cassie, who also sits here, and Marques, Skylar's brother and his girl Denise.

Right after I sat down Marques came over to me.

"hey bro" he said as he dapped me.

"hey man"

"you still coming over to chill today?"

Of course I was gonna go over there. Skylar lives there and just knowing there's a chance of me being seen by her excites me.

"yeah, I'll be there" I answered.

"good. Jarell and Omari will be there too"

I nodded.

Eventually the rest of the crew came over and sat down.

"so what's for lunch? I'm starving" Cassie complained.

"yeah, me too" Candace added. With that she snapped her fingers twice and 2 girls and a boy came rushing over.

Fucking groupies.

"we're hungry. Feed us" Candace ordered.

The tweeneers stared at all of us for a moment then smiled hopefully while running to do what they were ordered to do.

"so Trey, I see you dropped ol' girl" Omari pointed out while smoothly moving closer to Cassie.

"yeah. On to the next one"

I added laughing to make it seem like I actually enjoyed hurting these poor girls.

Jarell just shook his head but Marques dapped me.

"that's how you're supposed to do it" Marques said me my props.

A few seconds later our little groupie friends came running back to us with our food. They got everything perfect. Well it seemed that way until Candace opened her mouth.

"what the fuck! This lettuce is not green enough! I don't eat light green lettuce!" she dumped her salad on the ground and looked at the girl who had given it to her "why are you still standing here, invisi-bitch?" she turned up her nose. That poor girl was just demoted from safe tweener status to an invisible, a nobody, the scum of the earth, over lettuce.

I shook my head as everyone else laughed at the girl walking away with her head hung low. I honestly felt bad for her. I mean that was a bitch move from Candace but who gives and elite light green lettuce? I rolled my eyes at how petty my thought was.

I looked across the courtyard and my eyes met Skylar's body. The sun danced perfectly on her caramel skin. She had been watching the scene Candace just caused but was now back to eating her lunch.

Candace cleared her throat and beckoned the other girl to get her another salad.

The girl got it right and Candace dismissed her and the boy so we could eat in peace.
