What is love? Gosh, I'd like to know. Who has the most romantic, everlasting relationship? Because from where I stand, I feel like a brick hitting the ground from the sky. There is never a right time for love, but it always finds you off guard. These words mean nothing now, but let me tell you the reason why I feel this way. And yes, this is one of those stories.

Her name is Susan. She's an ordinary girl, just like any other. We first met at the grocery store near the school I attended. She didn't notice me, or at least that's what I thought. We didn't care much about one another at the time. I was working there after school. She was a little older than me; I was 17, and she was 19. She came in to buy some things for her family, and by family, I mean her mom and dad. She's an only child, and so am I.

My day was just like any other. I mostly got off from school, went straight to work, and then headed back home with my skateboard, which I named Sprinter. Sprinter is my best friend; I've had him ever since I was 8. We've been through a lot together, from being chased down by cops, bullies, and even dogs at some point, but Sprinter is always there for me, no matter what. Of course, I've had him for a while, and there have been some ups and downs: some wheel replacements, some repainting, and also some signature moves.

But the point is, I had a best friend. Let me tell you about my boss. She's an Asian woman who insisted I call her Jen. She's so independent, and she's also a loving mom to her twin daughters, Ashley and Ming. They're the same age as me, and they see me as a family member, and I've been there for them too.

Like most teenage girls, they'd kill to go to a Taylor Swift concert, which is just around the corner, in two months, to be exact. She'll be performing in our town, and there's no way they'd want to miss it. But, just like any protective mother, Jen said no to the girls going to the TS concert. I mean, I was fine with it, but the girls always use me to pull the puppy-dog eyes when they need something from their mother. She has a soft spot for me. Why, you may ask? Well, it's simply because I do everything she asks, cleaning the store, arranging shelves, being on time, and basically handling everything that needs to be done.

So yeah, I asked their mother if the girls could go to the TS concert, and she agreed, but only if I went with them and brought them back on time.

My shift was up, so I headed home with Sprints. That's a weird name to call my skateboard, but if you were me, you'd do it too. Anyway, I went straight home to my room, cleaned off Sprints, and let him dry. I did my homework, well, sort of. I didn't finish it because my dad asked me to get him some beer from the shop across the street.

Like any regular teenage boy, I put on my earphones and was listening to Drake. Just as I approached the shop, guess who I saw coming out? Susan. That was the second time I'd seen her, though I didn't know her name at the time. We met twice that day. I remember standing in front of her and, out of nowhere, shouting, "Hi!" She just stared at me and walked past as if I wasn't there. But as she passed, I heard her laugh, and somehow, that made me smile like a fool as I went into the shop.

I got the beer, though I don't understand why adults like it so much. I mean, I've tried it once or twice, but it's just not my thing and never will be. Until... well, I'll get to that part later. Let's stick to this part because it's important.

So I went back home and we had a family dinner as always my dad is like a cool drunk he never shouts he never curses he's just a cool guy whether he's drinking or not. My mom is always busy with the house and her parents house also cause my grandparents are very old she has to take care of them too like everyday which is cool because I get to see them once or twice a week they always have stories and my Nana's, that's what I call my granny. Best stories are about how true love always finds a way to your heart. She's been asking if I had someone in my life and I always joke with her and say I'm waiting for my grandpa to pass so I could be with her we always have a laugh about it and we move on.

The next day, the same old staff went to school, and straight to work afterwards but this day is different because Susan came by the store again and this time I knew I had to keep my cool and just not say anything. She came in with her friends and they bought some stuff and I was just standing there all shy and quiet they came to the purchase desk and I had to collect the purchases just as things couldn't get any worse Ming came and started a conversation with them which had no point of being started. But they were laughing and they seemed to bond about the TS concert for just about five or fewer minutes Susan and her friends left and I just had to ask Ming what that was all about.

And Ming thought I had a crush on Susan which I learned her name from Ming and she told me that she is in the same class with the girls that came in just now. So Ming is now my opportunity to get to know Susan because what she said was true I did start to develop a crush on Susan and yes it was an odd thing but who knows the rules of love and I wasn't sure what to call what I was feeling for Susan, was it a crush, or something more I had to find out by myself and the only available option was Ming.

So I asked Ming if she'd give me more Intel on Susan, of course she denied but when I used my puppy eyes and also reminded her that I was the reason she was going to see the TS concert in two months time. She agreed to tell me what I wanted to know about her but she told me that She's not that close to Susan. And that's where I learned she's an only child that lives with her parents around the block.
