Chapter 15

Samuel was just sitting on the bed when he felt something. Nkenchi was still sleeping with Sam in his arms. After a few minutes Samuel had a shot of pain go through him and he covered his mouth so he didn't scream. Eri was awake and playing with some of her toys in her bed "Papa? Papa, are you okay??" Samuel shakes his head as the pain gets worse. "What's wrong? D-Do I need to go get uncle Pablo?? H-He came last night when you and Dad were sleeping!" Eri suggested. Samuel then nods. Eri gets up and runs out the door, banging on the hotel room door that was next to theirs. Pablo opens the door, still half asleep. "Yes Eri?" Pablo said. "Something's wrong with Papa!!!!" She screamed. Pablo tenses then runs to the run next door. Nkenchi was still knocked tf out and Eri and Kota are trying their best to help. Pablo picks up Sam and runs to Gray's and Izzy's house. Nkenchi wakes up and Eri explains quickly. Nkenchi rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and ran along with them. After they all made it to the house. Eri knocked on the door real hard and a few seconds later Izzy opened the door "Yea, who is i- Oh, what's going on?!" "What do you fucking think is going on Izzy!!!" Pablo yelled. "I DON'T KNOW!?!? WHY DO YOU THINK I ASKED?!??!" Izzy yelled back. "Look at Sam and tell me what you think!!! Now let us in!!!" Pablo yelled. Izzy looked at Sam and then it dawned on her "Ohhhh!!!!" She opened the door wider so everyone could come in and ushered them to the bathroom "Put him in the tub, i'll be back!" Izzy left to go get something. Pablo put's Sam in the tub, "It's gonna be ok Samuel" Pablo said, trying to calm Sam down. Nkenchi was partially freaking out and partially trying to figure out what to do, Izzy came back in an old shirt, some shorts, and some gloves "God I missed delivering babies-" She got in the tub and got everything ready. "Pablo, there's some alcohol in the cabinets, go get it. Kota, Eri, you go get me some towels and Nkenchi you can stay for emotional support." Nkenchi nodded and got on his knees and held Sam's hand. Pablo, Kota, and Eri leave the bathroom. "It's gonna be okay Sam, we're gonna get you some vodka or something to help with the pain and everything is gonna be fine." Izzy said calmly. Samuel nods as Izzy says that. Izzy waits until everyone comes back, doing breathing exercises to help with the pain a little. The three came back with the stuff and gave them to Izzy. Izzy handed Sam the vodka "drink." Samuel takes it as the pain gets worse. Izzy waits a little but until Sam's semi-drunk. Samuel looks at the vodka then drinks some of it. Izzy waits, running one of the towels in hot water. After MANY hours two babies were born, one boy, one girl. Izzy picked the babies up and cleaned them off with the towel she'd wet a while ago. Samuel was panting a little, looking drunk as fuck. Nkenchi was talking to him, and rubbing the back of Sam's hand with his thumb. After a few minutes he falls asleep, dropping the bottle. Nkenchi catches it and puts it gently on the ground. "Hey Nkenchi!" Nkenchi looks over at Izzy and she was holding out the kids to him. He bit his lip and let go of Sam's hand, picking up both the babies and smiling. Pablo started to bawl, talking about being an uncle. Izzy started crying too, agreeing with just about everything he said. Nkenchi laughed, he looked kinda uncomfortable and he gave the babies back to Izzy. "What's wrong Nkenchi?" Pablo said. "I mean... I like babies but I can't look at them..." He said. "Why, they look like you and Sam..." "I just... they're painful. They make me remember things I don't wanna.." "that is?" Pablo said. "Uhm... I'd rather not talk about it..." Izzy frowns, biting her lip, seeming to remember something too. "Great, now you're hiding something, it's bad enough that Sam does it!" Pablo said. "Nkenchi, can you go get me some water please?" Nkenchi nods and goes to get the water and Izzy turns to them "It's nothing, he just has really bad memories that babies bring back to him. About our mom." "Oh..." Pablo sighs. "I'll explain in detail later" Izzy said, waiting for Samuel to wake up. Samuel starts waking up, looking around. "Good morning Sam!" Izzy smiles. "What happened?" Sam said, groggy. "You had babies! Do you wanna hold them or do you need a minute?" Izzy asked. "I need a minute" Sam said. After a few minutes Izzy asked her question again "Are you ready to hold them or do you need more time?" She asked softly. "Ok, I can now" Samuel said, holding his arms out. She gently puts both of the babies in his arms. Samuel smiles a little and holds them close. "What are you gonna name them?" Izzy asked, tilting her head. "Um...Axel and Harlyn" Samuel says. "Awwwe! Nkenchi what do you thi- Oh right, he left-" Izzy corrected herself, rubbing the back of her neck then looking back at the babies and talking to them. Pablo gets up and leaves to get Nkenchi. Nkenchi was sitting on the porch, his head on the wall and his knees curled up against his chest, small tears running down his face. Pablo sighs, "Samuel woke up, he looked kinda sad you weren't there...look i know you have trauma but it happened in the past! Its not gonna happening again but your out here, fucking crying when you have a soon to be husband and kids to take care of for god sake Nkenchi!!" Pablo said. "I know!! I know and I know it's in the past, I know it's not gonna happen again. I'm just scared... I did decent with Eri and Kota since I've met them but i... I just can't do babies..." "It's gonna be fine! Plus Samuel will be with you, he's going to help!" Pablo said. Nkenchi managed to calm himself down a bit, still panicking like a bitch but he got up and walked back to Sam, the babies, and Izzy. "your back" Sam said, tiredly smiling. "Y-Yea" Nkenchi smiled, shakily taking deep breaths, his breathing starting to speed up again. "Are you ok?" Sam asked. "M-Mhm... T-Totally fine!" Nkenchi's smile faltered a bit and his hands started to shake. "No you're not, what's wrong?" "N-Nothing, I'm fine!" "No you're not, what's wrong?" "Nothing, I'm just n-nervous..." He said, breathing a bit faster, looking at the babies and backing away slightly. "They're not gonna bite" Sam said. Izzy picks up Axel and gives him to Nkenchi, he tenses up and holds him stiffly, he looks hilariously awkward. Axel cutely giggles, looking at Nkenchi. Nkenchi froze and relaxed, his breathing starting to slow down and he smiled softly. "See, nothing will happen, you're fine" Samuel said calmly. Nkenchi gulped and put his hand out to wave at Axel and he grabbed one of Nkenchi's fingers. Nkenchi made a face, then started to cry, smiling to himself. Samuel goes back to Harlyn. Nkenchi sits on the side of the tub to talk to Harlyn "H-Hi little one..." He said quietly, smiling. Harlyn giggles softly and looks at him. Axel started crying and Nkenchi froze and started to panic, honestly looking like he was getting ready to throw him. Samuel takes Axel and hums a calming lullaby. Axel babbles softly and curls into Sam's chest, falling asleep, then waking back up when Harlyn hit his arm to wake him up. Samuel hands Harlyn to Izzy and puts Axel to sleep. Izzy squeals and Harlyn screams and giggles as Izzy blows on her tummy. Sam chuckles a little. "I- I'm sorry..." Nkenchi said quietly. "Why?" Sam asked. "I'm sorry I c-couldn't help..." Nkenchi said, rubbing away the tears that almost came out of his eyes. "It's ok, your still new-ish to this" Sam said, softly. Izzy heard that and laughed "Yea okay, 'new-ish' PFFTTT-" Samuel glared at Izzy, the look saying "not helping". "What? I was just laughing at the fact you think Our Nkenchi. Nkenchi Arturus Johnathan Sinclair is 'New-ish' at taking care of kids- You're funny-" "i was trying to help Izzy, I don't know how to comfort people." "No, I know, but him being "new-ish" At taking care of kids shouldn't be what you're trying to comfort him about. He's scared, not of raising them, I know damn well it's not that, because Nkenchi's been raising kids since he was 9 years old; he's scared of hurting them. He just doesn't wanna turn into our mom." "Like I'll ever let that happen." "EXACTLY NKENCHI. NOW STOP WORRYING." Izzy yelled, Nkenchi flinched and sighed shakily. He walked back in and sat on the side of the tub again. Samuel then starts humming Sing Me to Sleep By Alan Walker. Nkenchi smiled and yawned. Harlyn babbled happily and Axel fell asleep again. Sam then starts to sing softly. Nkenchi laid his head back on the wall and not even 5 minutes later he was asleep, Harlyn too. Samuel kept singing as he came to a stop. After he stopped, Izzy smiled and applauded softly "Wooooo! Flower, flower! That was so goooood!!!!" She whisper-yelled. Samuel chuckles and mouth's thank you. Izzy winked and got up and left, coming back with snacks "You hungry?" She mouthed. Samuel nods but has a baby in his hands. Izzy opens a pack of Oreos and holds one in front of his mouth. Samuel eats the oreo. She eats some herself and picks up the babies, swaddling them and bringing them to her and Gray's room, putting them gently on the bed and making them a blanket barrier so they don't fall off. She walks back in the bathroom and throws Sam some snacks. Samuel catches the snacks and eats them. She eats too and talks with him until everyone wakes up. After a while everyone starts waking up. Nkenchi rubs his eyes and looks to glance at the kids and doesn't see them "W-Where'd the babies go?!" He said, slightly panicking. "They're sleeping in Izzy and Gray's room honey, don't worry" Sam said. "Oh..." Nkenchi said, taking a deep breath "It's okay Nkenchi, You're fine, they're just sleeping, stop worrying so much..." He muttered to himself. "How was your nap?" Sam asked. "Fine..." Nkenchi said, laying back down. "Just fine? You were out once you laid your head down." "Yea, I just woke up really early, you went into labor at 5:30 in the morning y'know..." "sorry..." "It's okay mi amor, it's not your fault" Nkenchi said, leaning down and kissing Sam. Sam kisses back, smiling a little. Nkenchi pulled away and got up to go check on the kids and Eri and Kota were standing with them "What are you guys doing?-" Eri popped out of a big box, "we were looking in these boxes that were here." Eri said. "Oh, did you find anything in them??" Nkenchi asked. "Dolls that look like you and Papa" Eri said. Nkenchi tilted his head "Can I see them?" "sure" Eri said. Nkenchi picked up the dolls and threw his on the bed, letting out a little 'omph' noise as it hit the mattress but he shrugged it off and looked at the one that looked like Sam. It looked like Sam, even the teeth and the one golden tooth. Nkenchi smiled "Awwe, it's cute!" Nkenchi threw it up to catch it but it accidentally hit the ceiling, then the floor "Oops-" Samuel who was still with Izzy felt the pain. "OW!" Sam said. Nkenchi jumped and went to the bathroom "Are you okay??" " I don't know, it felt like something hit my back, and my front too!" Nkenchi's face paled slightly. "Oh...?" Sam sighed and closed his eyes. Nkechi left and came back with the doll, giving it to Sam. "I threw it up and it accidentally hit the ceiling, then it hit the floor and I don't think you felt what you felt, that happening was a coincidence..." Nkenchi said. "Maybe..." Sam said.
