The Other Night

"Sam, we're gonna make this right." Marie says. "I promise, we'll prot-"

Everything seems to go out of focus, the whole reason they came to the house alluding all their minds. "You don't care about anything that's happened in the last 24 hours." Lexi hears Cate's voice pulling on the back of her head. "Forget about the woods, forget about Sam. Have the best night of your life, and then forget it when you wake up."

Cate's pull is released from her mind leaving only the commands Cate had put there left. Everyone looked around at one another, not having any idea what they were doing at the house none of them recognized.

It's as if their minds were mush, they were unable to think their own thoughts. "Andre." Cate says, forcing him to look at her. "You must have put the wrong address in, this isn't Dusty's party."

As if a switch is flipped, they all seem to be back to normal, only no longer noticing Sam there. "The party started an hour ago, we should really be getting there." Cate adds, causing all of them to nod.

They all go through the house, ignoring the damages and walking out to their cars.

When they arrive at Dusty's place, music is playing loudly, lights are flashing, and bodies are flailing. Just what Lexi hated, but her mind told her she needed to have the best night of her life. "The best night of my life." She repeated in a hushed whisper.

"What?" Jordan asks, hearing it.

"Nothing." She responds quickly. All of them walk through the door into the crowded frat house.

Most of them split up after getting there, Lexi went into the fridge and grabbed a beer, opening the cap with the side of the table. Dusty had gotten a keg, but Lexi didn't really trust anything that wasn't sealed at places like this.

Without a ton of time passing she had finished the beer, and then another, and then another. The rest of her friends seemed to be getting just as drunk as her, even Jordan who was rarely able to get drunk.

Lexi currently stood against the counter, watching her brother trying to hit on Marie, she can't help but smile seeing her brother happy, but her smile only grew when she felt Jordan's arm go over her shoulder.

She looks over at them, not even hesitating before placing a small kiss on their lips. "What was that for?"

"Just trying to have the best night of my life." She responds, both of them giggling.

Lexi puts her beer down on the table, knowing she's not going to pick it up again. She puts both her hands on each side of their face, putting their lips together. Lexi's hands move down to behind Jordan's neck, while Jordan's hand makes its way down to her ass making her release the kiss, biting her lip.

"Dance with me?" Lexi requests, both of them knew it wasn't really a request. The music seemed to have gotten louder as the party went on, probably to account for the rising number of people.

Lexi starts dancing how she would sometimes when she and Cate would go out to the club, but instead of worrying about the world around her and those who lurked in it, she was happy, and carefree.

Another difference from the party and the club was how unseriously Jordan and Lexi were taking themselves. Both of them were so heavily intoxicated that it was hard to take anything seriously and Cate's mind fog only made that worse.

They laughed and danced with one another. Lexi looked over her shoulder for a split second, only to find Marie and her brother making out. She was amazed, not expecting that, but she smiled, happy for them.
