Syren felt it...those harsh stares on his back that wished nothing but unfortune upon him..and he refused to make eye contact in the mere direction of them.

Shivers rocked through his body, and his skin felt numb..suddenly hyperaware of all those that were looking at him..not him, but the nape of his neck..

His hands immediately blocked the claw marks that decorated his neck like velvety, red pearls of blood..and the wounds suddenly felt fresh, painful to touch.

The arms that held him together were forced open, and before David could breath out a second time, Syren was dashing out of his arms with his bag clutched tight in his arms, his shoulder length hair flowing as if in slow motion.

David made sure to keep a slow pace towards where he knew the older boy was headed, giving him space yet making sure he remained protected.

Round and round the staircases Syren went, hiding the tears that feared to fall down his cheeks, and the marks that bit down on his neck again and again forced him to remember everything that he didnt want to..

The luxurious hallways were endless, red carpet stretching to no end, and chandeliers lighting the darkest corners of the building..people looked at him weirdly, but when did they not?

When the carpet turned golden, his lungs felt as if they would burst, and the pounding sensation of his head nauseated him.

The double, oak doors of the third Library opened with hard pushing, and syren felt like sobbing when they didn't open in the first push..they did at the third, and the smell of books brought him immense relief immediatey..

The doors closed behind him loudly, and harsh breaths came punching at him, his composure breaking as he slid accross the floor and hid against the far corners of the abandoned library.

Shivers rocked through him, and he sobbed harshly, against his knees that he hugged to his chest..one of his hands pressing against his nape, wishing the marks would fade, and everything he imagined would come out as a lie.

"It is gonna be okay.."

He heard his grandma say, an illusion of her that made him cry so much more..

"Come on, Syren, are you not a big boy, now?"

He instinctively nodded his head, breathing deeply as he rocked himself like a little child..back and forth he went, trembling as the pain on his neck very slowly subsided..it didn't hurt that much physically, but it did so much mentally..

"Yes..It is all going to be okay.."

Her murmers faded eventually, volume going down and down along with the tremors that rocked Syren's body, hushed hiccups leaving his mouth as his tears dried up..

"All good..nice and good.."

He didn't hear it, but he recognized the arms that wrapped around him so softly..when his grandma's voice turned into his' he didn't know...and yet he instinctively folded his own arms around the younger's neck, cushioning himself against the warmth of David's chest..his nose burried in the man's relaxing alpha pheromones.

"Good job, Munchkin, very good.."
He whispered calmly, his fingers rubbing through Syren's hair before they scratched just a bit at the roots..the act instantly calming him down so that all that was left of him was a sniffing mess.

"Good boy, baby, so good for me.."

Syren slumped deeper and deeper into the warm embrace, melting into the heat of the Alpha's body..the Alpha that knew everything about him, the one that was always there for him..and Syren felt gratitude, but also regret, because him as a beta and David as an A rank alpha would never work out..

His head was raised upwards, big hands stroking his cheeks lovingly..and Syren felt lost in the dark green eyes that stared at Him so lovingly..but..but it just couldn't be him..

He flinched at the reminder, it can't be an alpha and a beta..It can never be me..

And his thoughts were mushed up yet again..He..He doesn't deserve me. He-He needs a pretty, satisfying omega who can-

Soft fingers tugged down the lip that had been violated by his own teeth without his own consent, and..

"Stop thinking so much..you'll fracture that tiny brain of yours.."
It was meant to be a joke, but it felt more like a warning, and Syren didn't say anything, just stared up at the male before him as if in a trance.

The fingers that rubbed over his lips grew confident, and when David's head neared his, he did nothing but lean in as well..and his lips met warmth that he didn't know he lacked.

His eyes closed on their own, automatically, all thoughts forgotten and left behind, his lips tingled at the soft movemnt against his, and he sighed before he completely fell in the support of David's arms..Arms that were strong to protect him, arms that didn't make him feel burdened.

We'll work it out..

His mushed brain thought up as David leaned back, his hands caressing Syren's cheek like a lover'a touch..

"Please, little strawberry, gimme a chance..I'll make it better.."
Syren didn't think twice about that confession, because he had heard it so many times, and because he knew it wasn't fatal...it was real..David was real for him.

"Yes.."
He managed to whisper meekly, because there wasn't any other answer to that, when he knew he was only happy in the arms of his now lover..

That smile on David erased all his sorrow, and the pain of his neck faded as if it was never there. He was pushed back into the cozy chest that smelled David and alpha..and he whined at the welcomed warmth that engulfed him...

"I'll make it work out, Baby, I promise you.."
