Chapter 5

Chapter 5:

It was really odd how this group of delinquents were coming after me and in school nonetheless. 

How did they know what school I went to? My cardigan covered my school patch, there was no way they'd know I went here.

What's even weirder is the fact they know my name. I didn't even introduce myself to them.

Plus what did I do to trigger them? Is it because I told them I know Ume? That must be it! They probably want to start a war with Bofurin.

I grabbed my phone and texted Ume about what was happening. Don't get me wrong, I could handle them by myself but if I got into a fight in school it could leave a bad mark on my permanent record and I really can't have that.

Besides, this was Furin's problem, I just got dragged into it. I'll let Ume handle this.

'A group of delinquents is making a scene at school and calling me out, there are about 30 of them.'

I noticed Seto-san was looking pale like she'd seen a ghost. She was scared to the bone and I found it quite weird, but then again those guys knew her. They must have harassed her in the past and completely traumatized her.

"Ume will be here soon, don't worry, those guys won't bother you again," I assured Seto-san, who was still frozen stiff in fright,

I checked on my phone one last time to see if Ume replied but got nothing. 

This was bad, if he's busy with his plants again then it's going to take some time for him to get here.

"S-Sugawara-san..." Seto-san stuttered, still completely frightened as she watched those 30 guys approach the campus building, "I'm so sorry," She said as tears started pouring down her face,

Why was she apologizing?

I didn't have time to ask because I noticed the guys were harassing the other students so I had no choice but to confront them and stall until Bofurin came. 

"Just don't let them see you, hide somewhere," I instructed Seto-san, 

I placed my phone in my pocket and headed downstairs to face the group, all I could hear them yell was 'where the fuck is Sugawara Yuzuru?!'

"Can I help you?" I bluntly questioned the rowdy group of Neanderthals, "What do you want? I was just about to have lunch, we're having tonkatsu and I don't want to be left with the crumbs," visibly showing I was not in any way fazed or bothered they were here and looking for me,

"So you really are here," The gorilla guy growled like he was offended he found me here, "The name is Ichinose Gin from Yorozuya, and I'm going to wipe that stupid look off of your face,"

I've encountered so many groups in this town and I have never heard of them, I couldn't help but give them a confused look. Am I supposed to know who they are?

"Never heard of you," I stated bluntly, and that ticked the leader off even more, "Look, if this is about Ume and Bofurin, I am not affil--," I tried to explain but I was cut off by Gin dashing towards me, trying to land an uppercut at me but I dodged nonetheless, "Bro, I'm not done talking," I said as I continued to dodge all his attacks,

"Shut up! You stole her from me," Gin screamed in anger as he continued trying to land blows at me but I easily evaded all of them.

Stole her from him? The fuck?

Not long after that, the rest of the members ganged up on me. I tried evading them at first, jumping over them and dodging every attempt to hit me. I needed to stall until Bofurin came but it was getting pretty difficult to handle 30 guys.

"There she is!" I heard Gin yell, I turned toward the main building and saw Seto-san hiding behind the pillars. 

Fuck. I asked her to do one thing and she couldn't even do that!

Since my attention was on Seto-san, I got punched in the face and kicked in the stomach by Gin's members. 

I fell on the floor in pain but quickly rolled away once I saw that one of the bigger guys was about to stomp on my head.

I couldn't wait for Furin anymore, Gin was about to get to Seto-san and I was getting beaten to the ground. I had to fight back.

I quickly got up from the floor and knocked out the members one by one. 

It was difficult, to say the least, they weren't a strong group but I was outnumbered so I got jumped here and there. I managed to clear everyone out but of course with repercussions. I sustained some bruises and minor injuries but nothing too serious.

After escaping the members who were starting to get back up, I managed to catch up to Gin and kicked him in the back of the head, instantly knocking him down on the floor. 

"Run!" I yelled at Seto-san who nodded and was about to run but her eyes quickly widened. I was about to turn around to see what she saw but before I could, I was hit in the head with what feels to be like a pipe or something.

I could feel my vision getting blurry and it was getting difficult to remain conscious.

I didn't fall though, though I was wobbly but remained standing as I tried to shake off the dizzy feeling I was having. 

"That was a little unnecessary, don't you think?" I asked Gin as I shook my head, I noticed droplets of blood on the floor. "If I'm going to have a bald spot because of this, I'm coming after you," I threatened as I grabbed the baton from his hand and broke it in half.

He tried lunging in for an attack but I was getting pretty irritated so all I did was swiftly kick him in the throat. Once he crouched down on the floor, I landed a dropkick on the back of his neck, instantly knocking him out cold.

This stupid fight was supposed to be easy if I wasn't distracted by Seto-san.

"Ah~ The bleeding won't stop, I think I have to get stitched up," I nonchalantly stated as I pressed my hand on where I was hit with the baton. I was bleeding profusely and I don't think it will stop with just some light pressure.

Just moments later, I heard a bunch of footsteps running towards the school campus. 

It was Hiragi with his members rushing to the scene of the crime.

"You're a little late," I told Hiragi as I sat on the floor and let out a heavy and tired sigh. The guys at Furin were shocked at the number of guys knocked out on the floor, 

"You fought them all on your own?" Enomoto-kun asked me and I just shrugged in response.

"So where's Ume?" I asked Hiragi, and then it hit me.

Umemiya Hajime didn't come to save me.
