Y/N POV
After ensuring everything was secure for the night, I decide to prepare breakfast for the guys. I know they’ve had a rough time with all the threats, and the least I can do is ensure they start the day with a good meal. I rummage through the kitchen, finding limited ingredients. Despite the scarcity, I manage to whip up a traditional Korean breakfast with kimchi fried rice, rolled omelets (gyeran-mari), and some seaweed soup (miyeok-guk). It’s simple but hearty.
By the time the clock strikes 8, the enticing aroma of breakfast starts wafting through the house. I hear movement upstairs, and soon enough, Jin emerges from his room, followed closely by Yoongi and Hoseok. They look groggy but follow their noses straight to the kitchen.
“Good morning,” I greet them, smiling as I finish cleaning up the kitchen.
Jin’s eyes light up at the sight of food. “Wow, did you make all this?”
“Yes,” I reply, setting the last plate down. “I figured a home-cooked meal would be safer than takeout.”
Jin nods appreciatively, sitting down at the table. “It smells amazing. Thank you.”
Yoongi gives me a small smile, still waking up. “Thanks, Y/N.”
As the rest of the members wake up, they trickle into the kitchen one by one, drawn by the smell of breakfast. Namjoon is the last to arrive, rubbing his eyes as he enters.
“Morning,” he mumbles, looking around at the spread. “You didn’t have to cook, Y/N. We could’ve ordered takeout.”
I shake my head. “We can’t be sure if the takeout would be safe. It could be tampered with, and we can’t take that risk. I heard you all talking about getting takeout last night, so I decided to cook instead.”
Namjoon looks at me, a mix of concern and gratitude in his eyes. “That’s very thoughtful of you. But you didn’t have to go through all this trouble.”
“It’s no trouble at all,” I assure him. “With the limited ingredients, I could only make this. Sejin ssi will be bringing groceries later today.”
Hoseok looks at the food and then back at me. “This is amazing. Thank you so much, Y/N.”
“Yeah, thank you,” Jungkook chimes in, already reaching for a plate.
I watch them start to eat, feeling a sense of satisfaction. “Just doing my job. I’m here to protect you, and that includes making sure everything is safe, even your food.”
Jimin looks up from his plate, giving me a warm smile. “We really appreciate it, Y/N. This means a lot.”
As they dig in, I take a moment to enjoy the scene. These boys have been through so much, and seeing them enjoy a meal I made is incredibly fulfilling. I’m reminded of why I do this job. It’s not just about physical protection; it’s about creating a safe environment in every possible way.
I sit down with them, joining in the meal. It’s a moment of normalcy amidst the chaos, and I’m glad I can provide that for them, even if it’s just through a simple breakfast.
As they continue to eat, Namjoon looks up at me. “Seriously, Y/N, thank you for your dedication. It’s reassuring to have you here.”
I nod, feeling a sense of pride. “It’s my duty sir, I’m here to make sure you’re all safe and secure.”
They all express their gratitude again, and I can see the relief in their faces. This job is about more than just guarding them; it’s about giving them peace of mind, and today, I feel like I’ve done just that.
