Rein's POV
After dropping Seraphina off at her room to get settled, I go across the hall to my room.
I kick my shoes off at the door and plop down on my bed. I sigh as I let my head fall into my hands.
Knowing that wallowing in my own self pity will not help anything, and that if I don't start getting ready I'll be late to the meeting, I get up and walk into my closet, looking for something to wear.
I look around and settle on black jeans and a white button-down shirt, with grey Nikes.
I run a hand through my hair and check the time. Less than 20 minutes.
I frown and walk to Sera's door. Hesitating with my hand raised, ready to knock. I'm nervous after our confusing argument.
I sigh and knock twice. I hear her call out for me to come in, so I open the door and open my mouth to say hello and apologize. But, as I look up, I am met with a surprise.
Seraphina stands in front of me with a tilted head and curious expression. She is gorgeous.
She is wearing a white summer dress that goes to her knees, and it has off the shoulder sleeves. Pale blue flowers sprinkle the bottom of the dress, and a small bow sits prettily on her back. A pale blue bow sits in her braided ponytail. Her mint green eyes stand out beautifully on her face.
Tingles spread over my body, but I push them away and nervously clear my throat. "Hi... I came to get you for the meeting. And to apologize for earlier. It was not very smart of me to push you. To try to get you to let me in so soon after you've found this all out. So I'm sorry," I say, running a hand through my hair.
Seraphina sighs and looks at the ground. "No. Don't do that," she says softly.
I frown. "Don't what? Apologize?" I ask her in confusion.
She nods. "Yes. It's not your fault. Really, it's my fault. I shouldn't have called your kind monsters because you're not. You're all fascinating and nice. And I really shouldn't have said anything about the whispers," she says quickly.
I breathe in sharply. My eyes glow softly, my wolf itching to get out at her words. "Okay, explain. What in the world are these 'whispers' you keep going on about?" I ask her, looking up with a serious expression on my face. I don't want to fight with her again, but I have to know.
She looks up. "I don't think I should say after hearing the things your dad has been talking about," she says.
I wall forward and put my hands on her shoulders. I see a blush reddening her face. "If this is a danger to you, then I need to know," I say.
She looks away. "It's just something that's been happening a lot. Ever since I put that girl in the hospital. When I am around people, I hear whispers from them, but their mouths never move," a frown forms on her face, "it's gotten me in trouble by many lately. I'm not sure if I'm losing it or what."
I release her shoulders and stare at her with my mouth open. I see her shuffle nervously. Then I'm out the door and walking to my dad's office for the second time that day.
I hear Seraphina behind me, trying to get me to stop and explain. But this new bit of information is too important to not tell the alpha about.
This changes everything.

Hey peeps. Sorry about the late chapter. And a short one. I have been so busy lately and have been trying so hard to think of how to write this chapter. As well as the next chapter for The Lost Kingdom. It's been a long couple of months. But I'm gonna try and start getting longer chapters and sooner. Try too.
Encouragement of the day....
Don't give up on love, life, yourself. Don't let them make you think you're low. Because you are loved. :) <3<3<3
