Seraphina's POV

I follow a quiet, kind she-wolf to the library. Willow, she said her name was. She has red hair and is around my age. She is pretty with shining blue eyes.

She asks me questions, and I answer them as truthfully as I can. Until she starts asking me strange questions. Like now, as she's asking me a question that I accidentally zoned out of. I know it was something about werewolves, but I missed the whole thing.

I turn to look at her with a tilted head. "I'm sorry, what were you saying?" I ask hesitantly. I expect some strange whispering reply like the ones I've been getting from everyone, but I don't hear it.

This surprises me. One, because the whispers have turned into full on screaming in my head, especially at school. And two, this girl doesn't know me, so I wonder why she is this calm towards my behavior when everyone else seems to go mad about it.

She smiles at me. "I was wondering if you are a werewolf or something supernatural?" She asks me calmly. No whispers.

I shake my head. "No, I wouldn't think so... my parents are human. At least they better be, otherwise they have some serious explaining to do," I say, half joking.

Willow laughs softly. "You'd be surprised," she begins, but pauses with a thoughtful expression on her face.

I don't have a chance to question her further, because we are interrupted by some one calling her name.

Willow groans quietly and turns to face the newcomer with crossed arms.

I follow her gaze, only to meet Rein's grey eyes.

He looks at me with a soft expression, and I feel tingles in my fingers.

He breaks eye contact first, to turn and look at Willow. "Willow, there's a meeting in half an hour, I need you to go get ready," He says to her.

Willow smirks. Which also surprises me because of her soft nature earlier. She is a very confusing person.

"Of course your highness... would you like me to take Sera with me?" She asks.

I can tell there is some unsaid meaning behind her words, but I'm not sure which part. I see Rein stiffen slightly, before sighing and loosening up.

"No, thank you Willow, I'll take it from here," he says glancing my way.

Willow nods slightly, and turns and walks away.

I face Rein with my arms crossed. "So, care to explain what is going on?" I ask him.

He hesitates, and runs a hand through his wavy hair. "Where to begin?" He questions himself.

I frown. "Maybe start with this... werewolves are real? And what about that strange, cryptic conversation with your dad about how 'everyone looking for her will have a big beacon to follow'? Oh, and what about the whispers? Huh?" I question him, blurring out the last part without thinking.

He looks me in the eyes quickly, his eyes shimmering slightly. "Whispers?" He asks quietly.

Well wonderful. Now he's going to think I'm crazy.

I sigh. "Nothing. You wouldn't understand," I tell him, looking away.

His eyebrows draw together. "I wouldn't understand? Why, because you don't think I will, or because you're afraid I will?" He asks.

"What's the difference?" I ask him, trying to divert the conversation.

He shakes his head. "Why don't you trust me?" He asks softly.

I look up to see his shoulders slumped and face defeated.

I sigh inwardly. "Hard to trust someone who tricked me from the moment I met them. Barely knew them, but trusted them enough in my most vulnerable time to befriend them, and they turn and drop the bomb on me. Oh, hey, by the way, I'm a monster?" I question him sarcastically.

He flinches and looks at me with a hurt expression on his face. "You think my kind are monsters?" He asks me quietly.

I kick myself in my mind. Stupid.

I shake my head quickly, but Rein's face turns cold, and he turns to walk away. "Come on. I'll show you where you can get ready for the meeting," he says changing the subject.

I follow quietly, knowing that if I speak I'll only make things worse. As always.

My head starts to pound softly. The sense of peace, and the break from the weird whispers, is gone. As we walk through the pack grounds, whispers surround me. Most of them not friendly.

I follow Rein with my head low, trying not to look threatening.

He leads me to a big, beautiful house. It is white with a wrap around porch and white pillars, and has yellow accents to the house. Yellow shutters, and trim. A yellow door. It's a beautiful house.

We walk up the porch steps and into the house. And the inside is just as pretty. Open floor plan, living room, kitchen, dining room. The whole nine. Even some bedrooms. And then a flight of stairs leading up into a second story.

My eyes look everywhere. Taking everything in.

I hear Rein clear his throat, wanting me to continue to follow him.

We head upstairs, and find more rooms, and offices.

"This is the Alpha wing. This whole second story is strictly for the Alpha's family, and the Beta and Omega's family. Your room is this way," Rein says as he walks.

I gasp slightly as we make it to a room bigger than my living room at home. It has pale blue, almost white walls, mahogany wood floors with a light grey and pale blue circle rug in the middle of the room. A big king size bed with light grey sheets, and pale blue comforter, and grey pillow cases, pushed against the left wall. A window straight across from the door you walk into, and it overlooks the forest and mountains. A bookshelf on either side of the window, which has a reading nook. A dresser against the right wall with a door on each side of that for the bathroom and the closet. Some paintings and little mirrors in the shape of the different phases of the moon are above the bed.

Short explanation, the room is gorgeous.

Rein shuffles nervously next to me, clearly wanting to leave the awkward silence. "There are clothes in the closet, and some dresses in there for the meeting and dinner this evening. All the stuff you need is in the bathroom. Meeting is in 30 minutes," he says and then leaves.

I stare at the door he just closed, and then back at the room.

I decide to start my journey in the closet, so I can get ready for this suspicious meeting.

I open the door and smile to myself. This will do perfectly. I think as I walk in to get ready.
