"Come to me my sweet, beautiful baby boy" My mother calls sweetly to me from the bench she was sitting on not far from me.

"Ma-Ma" I giggle running over to her across the fresh grass of our favorite park.

She picked me up and placed me on her lap facing her. I look up at her. Her face is a haze, but her smile is as clear as day. I giggle lifting my arms up so my hands can try to touch her face. She lowers her face so my hands can reach. Her face is so soft. Her black raven hair falls out of her bun and against the back of my hands.

"Let me put my hair back up really quick my little comet" She whispers holding me close to her placing her forehead on mine.

"Ma-ma woosh reawwy preththy withh hair down" I say smiling

"Awww well in that case I guess I just have to leave it down" She laughs softly

"Yesh yesh i happy" I giggle bouncing up and down her lap

We both start laughing with each other. I just want to hold on t-

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

BUZZ BUZZ BUZZ

I open my eyes to see my off-white "room" celling.

BUZZ BUZZ B-

I move my head to the right and see my phone alarm going off. I reach my hand over to grab my phone to turn off the alarm. That stupid memory keeps haunting my dreams. Even in my sleep I can't get a moment of peace. With a sigh I sit up removing my blanket to get off my "bed" which is really just an old mattress on the ground. I need to be quick I have wasted too much time already getting lost in my head about the dream.

I can't afford for Hank, my so called father or as Aria calls him the Joker to wake up before Aria and I have a chance to leave the house for school. I drop my phone on the bed and walk to my door and open it. I peek my head out the door and listen to see if he is awake. It seems like the coast is clear. I creep down the hall very carefully making sure not to step on any of the floorboards that make too much noise. When I get to Aria's room, I open the door very slowly making sure not the make too much noise. I step in and close it behind me. I turn around to see her facing me looking so peaceful. I wonder if I ever look like that anymore. I walk over to her and bend down. I move the hair from in her face away.

"Heyy there lovemelody time to wake up" I whisper shaking her lightly.

"MmMMmmmMMmm noOooOOooooooO" she groaned

"We don't want to run behind time so hurry and get ready. I'll be waiting downstairs with something to eat" I say with a smile walking to her door.

"FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD" She whisper-yells snapping awake. I can hear her little feet hit the ground as I walk over to open the door to walk out.

I look over my shoulder to see her shuffling around her room fixing it up and getting ready for school. I smile and close the door behind me. I make sure to be quietly and quickly go back to my room and start getting ready for school. When I am done, I check my phone to see the time.

6:44am

We are making some pretty good timing today. Hank will still fast asleep when we will have to leave. I put my phone in my hoodie pocket careful to be gentle with my right arm. I grab my backpack and head downstairs. I might actually get to leave without having to worry about blood dripping everywhere or it soaked into my shirt and having to hide it, so no one sees. Luckily for me Hank went on a business trip for the weekend and just got back last night so I was able to avoid the daily beating this weekend and heal from the one he gave me before leaving.  Usually that just means he will make up for it tonight. I am exhausted from working overtime this weekend though. As I get downstairs and move to my hidden stash of food and pull out two pop tarts. I pop them into the toaster, leaning back onto the counter to wait and listen upstairs to make sure she isn't being loud and to make sure he is still asleep. I feel my phone vibrate from inside my hoodie pocket, so I take it out and check.
