07 | Calm Before The Storm

I wake over to them. 

"Welcome to Momo's Cat Cafe! I'm Callum. I'll be assisting you today. Is there anything I can get for you?" I say on instinct. 

"Where are the cats?" Asks the woman who looks about the same age as the man. My guess would be 19 maybe 20. It's hard to tell when you can hardly see their faces. 

"The cats are sleeping in the back right now the don't do well during rush hour" I say on politely. 

"When will they be out" asked the man 

I look around the cafe and notice it has calmed down and I think about it for a second. 

"They can come out now actually it seems like it has calmed down in the cafe at the moment" I say to the man as the doors open. 

I see Liam walk in and on instinct I spin around and grab a large cup making his favorite drink trying to win our little game. I glade around the space and finish in about a min. I look to see that he hasn't made it to me, yet which means I win. He makes it to the front and stands beside the two people who are still standing there watching me I hand him his drink with a smirk. 

"I win today it seems. That makes hmmm" acting like I'm thinking about it. "Two wins today" I finish letting my ego show a bit. 

"Only because I let you" he says taking his drink 

"Please, you never let me win anything. I bet I made it perfect too" I say folding my arms to my chest. 

He takes a sip and scowls at me which only makes my smirk widen. 

"Yeah, that's what I tho-" I begin to say 

"Cal-bear~~" I hear Aria say softly behind me. 

"I turn to see Aria holding my favorite cat - Snowy in her arms looking like she just woke up. 

"Heyy there lovemelody want me to get you a snack and a table with Liam?" I ask softly 

"If you get your backpack, we can do your homework together" Liam adds from behind. 

She just nods turning to head to the back to grab her backpack. 

"OH, and tell Mj to let out the kittens" I add before the doors closes. 

I turn back around to find the same man and woman next to Liam waiting. 

I am so sorry for making you wait so long. I will give each of you a drink on the house." I say bowing my head in apology. 

They look at each other and smile. They must really like getting free stuff. I know how it feels. I guess it worked out. As long as they don't leave a bad review because of me it is all good. I keep my polite smile on my face. 

"Do you know what you want to order? I say polity trying to get their attention. 

"Is there anything you recommend?" The woman asks looking back at me. 

I think for a second and look at them closely and mixtures come to mind. 

"I have an idea for something different for each of you that might suit you" I say a little nervous 

They look back at each other and nod at me. I start with the woman, so I study the detail of her outfit the vibe she is giving off. after a min I grab a medium size cup and get to work. I add out locally sourced caffeine to my mix very little for her and add a few shots of different blends I have been working on with a finishing of caramel and coconut. Once I'm satisfied, I put the drink in front of her and study the man they seem similar but have different flairs. After a long minute I get to work making his and I add the same coffee base, but I add more to his and I add some of the same shots but also different ones as well and instead of topping with caramel and coconut I make his chocolate and walnut with a slash of peppermint. Once I'm done, I set his in front of him. I felt something rub against my leg, so I look down and see all the kittens are out and showing me love then heading off to greet the customers. I smile when I see snowy looking up at me. I bend down to pick him up.
