Sunshine hair. Eyes of the purest oceans.

An uncontrolled fury in hot blood under the soft skin.

Warrior spirit aligned with the elements.

"Vegeta? VEGETA!"

The Prince growled and fired a ki blast at the source of the disturbance.

Raditz narrowly avoided the attack, watching the ball of energy crash into a large rock and shatter it, injuring some Saiyans.

"Are you crazy?! You could have hit me!" he croaked the long-haired Saiyan with his tail puffed up in fright around his waist.

"The intention was that, Raditz..."

Vegeta couldn't focus on confidential information and missions and listen to the boy, there wasn't much difference in age between them but Vegeta couldn't help but see him as an arrogant brat. He snorted: exactly as Raditz referred to Prince Goku.

"Are you still reading that stuff?" he laughed, noticing the paperwork and the padd and the active scouter on his face. "Next army, let's kill them and take their things. It is not difficult."

Vegeta took the scouter off for a moment, touching the root of his nose and massaging.

"What are we still doing on this ball of mud? I thought we had to exterminate the planet of the Dragon's Army!" joked Raditz.

In other situations Vegeta might have found the soldier's jokes almost funny, but this time it was different. Everything looked damn different.

"What do I have to hear..." he mumbled. "This is just one of the many reasons why I am the Prince and you're not."

"Ah, not why are you the King's son?" Raditz asked how to make the other obvious.

"If you had been the Prince it would have been our undoing!" he waved a hand, going back to the documents and putting the scouter back to his ear. "And Nappa would have been your mentor."

Raditz shivered. "This is terrifying. Even more so if I think we grew up together." the boy stamped his feet on the ground as if he were nervous. "But seriously: what the fuck are we still doing here? There is a war to fight, the Ice Empire can attack at any moment!"

"Feel your ass frozen?" Vegeta grinned. "Or do you miss your mom?"

Raditz bit his tongue and didn't flinch, becoming serious. "I'm just saying we're wasting time. That doesn't seem like our usual mission... an alliance has never lasted so long."

Obviously he had changed the subject, Vegeta hadn't missed the detail.

"Didn't you realize that we have something bigger under our eyes, than the usual practice?"

Raditz looked around and crossed his arms over his chest, shrugging. His way of saying that he hadn't noticed anything but he didn't want to admit it.

"We can achieve more. Maybe... a real alliance!"

Raditz's face was halfway between laughter and disgust. "Alliance? Vegeta... last night you asked to torture two of the soldiers of the little Dragon in front of you! We Saiyans do not take orders from the first who passes by and sure as the Seven Hells, we do not make alliances. We're not suited for that shit!"

The Prince checked some documents with the scouter. "Expand your horizons, Raditz."

"Who helped you to open yours?"

Vegeta smiled and Raditz could feel the chills in his back, as if expecting another shot of energy in his face.

"You're playing with fire, soldier." encrypted information passed on the scouter and Vegeta growled, clenching his fists.
