MALAKAI, STOOD IN THE DOORWAY IN THE DOORWAY OF MANDY'S BEDROOM...

“If you dating Ian,” Malakai began, his voice low and gravelly, “why were you in a empty classroom with Lip?”

Mandy's eyes widened, her face paling slightly. “It was Ian,” She insisted.
Malakai let out a soft chuckle, a humorless sound that echoed in the small room.

“Cut the crap, Mandy,” he said, his gaze sharp.

Mandy's composure cracked. “It was Ian,” she repeated, her voice losing its confidence. 'His the one I'm shagging, okay? His my boyfriend, why would I be with Lip when I'm with his brother?”

Malakai raised an eyebrow. “Let's hope so,” he said, a hint of threat in his tone. “Because you know what would happen if Kodi finds out.”

Mandy's face crumpled. She knew the danger. Kodi had a temper, a dangerous one fueled by jealousy and a deep-seated insecurity.

“I know, Kai,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “Is that all you wanted? Where's Kodi anyway?”

Malakai shrugged. “Helping Fiona.. ” they hear their brothers fighting

“Ugh.. I need my own place,” he mumbled, exasperation lacing his voice.

“Why not? With a baby on the way, I reckon it's best.” He nodded, the grim reality of his situation settling around him like a suffocating blanket. He glanced at Mandy, her face etched with a mix of fear and guilt. He knew she was walking a tightrope, one wrong move and the whole thing could come crashing down.

“Stay safe,” he said, his voice rough, conveying a warning and a desperate plea in equal measure. “And don't get caught.” He turned and walked out, leaving Mandy alone in her turmoil. The air hung heavy with unspoken tensions, the weight of secrets and the ever-present threat of Kodi's fury.

The room seemed to shrink around Mandy as she sank further into the bed, the future a hazy blur of uncertainty and fear.
