As their carriage rumbled into the castle's courtyard, Genna felt a renewed sense of readiness to embrace her duties as Lady Maverly. The time spent away as a newlywed couple had been a cherished interlude, graciously hosted by King Loris in the enchanting realm of Ilyrian. Each morning in Ilyrian began with the gentle sound of waves lapping against the shore, a soothing symphony that greeted them as they woke. The air was filled with the fragrant scent of blooming flowers, and the sky painted with hues of pink and gold as the sun rose over the horizon. Genna and Levi would start their days with leisurely strolls along the beach, their feet sinking into the soft, warm sand as they walked hand in hand. The ocean's cool breeze played with Genna's hair, and she often found herself laughing freely, a sense of lightness enveloping her.

The local markets of Ilyrian were a delight to explore. Stalls overflowed with vibrant fruits, each more exotic than the last, and Genna relished the opportunity to taste them all. She particularly loved the star-shaped lyra fruits, with their sweet and tangy flavor, and the delicate petals of the sunblossom flowers that were often used in local dishes. The Rainbow Wine, famous throughout the land, was a revelation; its complex, multi-layered taste was unlike anything she had ever experienced. She and Levi would often sit on the terrace of their guest villa, sharing a bottle as the sun set, the sky ablaze with color, mirroring the wine in their glasses.

When Levi joined King Loris for hunting expeditions, Genna embraced her moments of solitude. She explored the capital city, marveling at the intricate architecture. The city was alive with art and music, and she often found herself drawn to the open-air theaters where local musicians played hauntingly beautiful melodies on instruments carved from the island's unique, silvery wood.

Venturing beyond the city gates with Levi, Genna discovered a world of natural wonder. They wandered through lush forests where ancient trees towered overhead, their leaves creating a verdant canopy that filtered the sunlight into a soft, dappled glow. They hiked to hidden waterfalls, their crystal-clear waters cascading into tranquil pools where she would sit and reflect, the only sound the gentle rush of water and the occasional call of exotic birds.

One particularly memorable day was spent at the Lumina Caves, a series of caverns renowned for their bioluminescent glow. As they ventured deeper into the caves, the walls came alive with a soft, ethereal light, illuminating their path with a magical glow. It was an otherworldly experience, one that made her feel as though she had stepped into a realm of pure enchantment.

However, her time in Ilyrian had come to an end, and as she stepped onto Ethios' shores once more, Genna felt rejuvenated. She had missed seeing Samantha and couldn't wait to speak with her again. Upon descending from the carriage, Genna immediately requested a servant to deliver the news of their return to Samantha.

"My lady, I have already received word from Mrs. Samantha today. She asked that I convey her apologies for not meeting you upon your arrival. She requests the company of you and his lordship at her tavern for dinner. She is busy preparing as we speak," the servant informed her, his tone efficient and respectful.

"Understood," Genna replied with a smile. "We will freshen up and return to the carriage shortly."

"Certainly, my lady," the servant said, bowing slightly. "I will have the carriage wait here for your return."

Levi squeezed her hand, a gesture full of warmth and excitement. He seemed more thrilled by the servant's recognition of her as a lady than she was. Although the title still felt foreign to her, Genna had to admit she was growing accustomed to it more quickly than she had anticipated.

They returned to their chambers and changed into more comfortable attire before making their way back to the carriage. The sun had already begun to set as they rode through the city. Magnolia was beginning to quiet down for the night, with merchants packing up their stalls and mothers herding their children indoors for supper. Genna's thoughts drifted to Kyran and the life that might have been if she had kept him.
