Luna's POV
I was knitting in the living room, while my father was working on his new article at the kitchen table. The Quibbler is doing well so far; from being a pioneer in Magizoomedia blooming to reporting on the return of You-Know-Who. I had to admit, the magazine was much more darker than its usual quirky writings on the mischievous Nifflers or the possible spots to hunt the Crumpled-Horned Snorkacks.
I wanted to make something for Draco, since I wasn't wealthy enough like him to get something expensive. So I decided to knit a round-shaped outline, with a smiley face at the centre. It's to remind Draco to smile more often rather than sneering. He looked so handsome when he smiles - and I don't want to be the only one to notice that.
"Who are you making it for?" Father asked, since he's a journalist and was rather inquisitive about everything.
"Oh, nothing Father. Just felt like knitting," I lied, hoping he won't press it further.
"I know my Luna. She intends to give it to someone. Is he special?"
I paused my knitting to smile and shook my head. I didnt need to tell him anything for him to know someone has been bugging my mind lately.
"You know, when I met your mother, I was a troubled, naughty kid. Your mother of course, was beautiful, smart Head Prefect from Gryffindor, while I was just an average student who writes for school magazine from Ravenclaw. I wanted to know her better, so borached this subject to my father. He wasn't particularly fond of of your mother as she wasnt fully pureblood. Your grandmother was a muggle as you know. But then my father soften along the way," he paused, his eyes tell more than his words. It was a nostalgic feeling - only the person experienced this sentimental experience isnt here by his side to reminisce the days.
He was silent still, then continued. "Love isnt always pretty my dear Luna. He might be the opposite of what you dreamed of. Question is, are you ready to walk through the fire, passed through the storms, or jump into the water without knowing whether you will be eaten by any other creatures?"
I was stunned, unable to form words. Not only Father revealed some scary facts about love, but he sounded more glum than usual. Love...is that what I felt about Draco?
"I can see your eyes my dear Luna. You are in love with this boy," he said nonchalantly.
My heart skipped a beat, and though I tried to maintain my calm persona, Draco is the only person who could break that wall. He made my knees go weak, my body turned into jelly and my head to spin incessantly. Then I remembered the kiss. It was obviously our first time, but it felt so good that wrackspurts decided to cling onto me.
"Father, let's say if I do live him, what if he never loves me back?" I asked, unsure of this whole thing.
He smiled lovingly. "Whats meant to be yours, will eventually be yours. Heartache will heal, in time."
I sighed and spaced out again. No matter how hard I tried to push this feelings away, my heart is shouting one thing I loathe the most.
I am in love with Draco Malfoy.
