The next day, Kerrigan called Theolinda to inform her that Arabella had entered the secret section of the Order's library at night and that she was being held there for that reason because that was prohibited. Theolinda quickly went to Kerrigan's office to clarify what happened.

"Come in and sit down, Theolinda."

"Where is Arabella? What did you do to her?" Theolinda asked worriedly.

"We didn't do anything to her. I didn't allow it," Kerrigan responded.

Theolinda said:

"That's great, Kerrigan. Now I have to thank you for not torturing or killing Arabella for that serious infraction!"

Kerrigan felt hurt by Theolinda's words. She said:

"You have a very low opinion of the Order."

"I know almost nothing about the Order, even though my father was a member. But I do know that it is a secret society with excessive power that will do anything to hide its secrets," Theolinda said. "Or not, Kerrigan?"

Kerrigan took some time to respond. Then she replied:

"You're not wrong, Theolinda. We do anything to hide our secrets. And those of other people we care about."

"Okay. You guys helped Ryan and me in the past, so I have to shut up. I get it. I'm into this shit somehow. But it scares me to think about what's behind this façade of scholarship and scientific research."

Kerrigan explained:

"Our mission is important and necessary. Magic has to be controlled, and the world works better with our control."

Theolinda couldn't believe Kerrigan's justification for the Order's actions.

"Kerrigan, you are convinced of what you say, right?"

"Yes, it's hard to take extreme measures, but sometimes it's necessary. Do you remember that journalist who wanted to do a book about Ryan's father and who mysteriously disappeared?"

"Yes," Theolinda suddenly realized. "Did the Order kill him?"

"Yes. I wasn't the Domina at that time, but I was already in the inner circle."

Theolinda was horrified.

"You are monsters. We thought Ryan's father had him killed."

"No, now you understand the scope of the Order?"

Theolinda stood up and said:
