Today I'm having the first interview for the babysitter position for Auden.

I'm signing some papers when Diane comes in my office.

"Mr. Scott, the person for the babysitter position is here."

"Let her in. Thank you."

A few moments later, a young girl comes in my office. She has red hair amd she doesn't look older than 22. Let's see what she can do.

"Hello, Mr. Scott. I'm Clara Webber and I'm 20 year's old and I came for the babysitter position."

"Hello. Do you have any experience with kids?"

"Yes. I was a babysitter for two kids until now. I was a babysitter for two great kids. A five-year old girl and a two-year old boy. I was responsible for their daily routines like giving them food, playtime and sometimes bedtime. I also played with them a lot of interactive and learning games."

"Oh, that's really good. What made you leave from them?"

"Well, they moved to another city. So they no longer needed my services. It was really nice to work for them, but I'm ready to work for someone else."

"Understood. What do you think are the most important qualities in a babysitter?"

"Patience, reliability, and creativity." She replies confidently. "Patience is crucial when dealing with young children who are still learning how to communicate and manage their emotions. Reliability is about being dependable and trustworthy, so parents can have peace of mind. Creativity helps in keeping children engaged and learning through fun activities."

"That's great. How would you manage an emergency?"

"I've been trained in basic first aid and CPR, and I always keep a calm demeanor. In any emergency, I would contact you immediately after ensuring the child's safety. I believe in being prepared, so I always have an emergency plan and contact information readily available."

"Excellent. Lastly, why do you want to work with us and take care of Auden?"

"I love working with children and helping them grow. From what I've heard, Auden seems like a wonderful child, and I would be honored to be a part of his upbringing. I know being a single parent is challenging, and I want to support you in any way I can."

I lean back in my chair, considering her answers. Clara seems capable and enthusiastic, but I know I need to be thorough. "Thank you, Clara. I have a few more candidates to interview, but I'll let you know by the end of the week."

"Thank you for time, Mr. Scott." She says and she gets up.

As she leaves, I make a few more notes and prepare for the next interview. It's going to be a long process, but finding the right person to help with Auden is worth the effort. When it's almost time to meet with the next candidate, I hear some giggles from the hallway and I go to see what's happening. I see Auden running around with Diane behind him. Oh, no. That's not good. A few moments later, my mother walks to me.

"I'm sorry, Hardin. It's an emergency and they need me at the hospital. There was a big accident and they need a lot of personal and I have to be there."

"It's okay, mum. I'll keep him busy here."

"I'm really sorry." He kisses my cheek.

"Go and help saving people."

"See you later, honey." She says and she leaves.

"Auden, buddy..." I say and he looks at me.

"Dadda!" He comes running to me and I lift him up.

"Hi." I kiss him.

"He got bigger, Mr. Scott." Diane says and I smile.

"He's growing day by day. I'll be in my office, send the next girl inside when she's here."

"Alright."

I walk in my office with Auden. I let him on the couch and I give him some of his books, then I walk back to my desk, starting to work, but keeping an eye on Auden.

After a few minutes, I hear a knock at the door and I know it's the next candidate.

"Come on in." I say and a blonde girl with blue-grey eyes comes inside. I get up as she walks to my desk.

"Hello Mr. Scott. My name is Tessa Young and I came here to babysitter position." She says and we shake hands. I'm mesmerized by her beauty. She's natural and beautiful.

"Please, miss Young, have a seat. Do you want a coffee?"

"No, thanks. And you can call me Tessa." She sits in front of me.

"Can we start?"

"Sure."

"Tell me more about you."

"I'm 26 years old. I have my diploma in child psychology, and I worked as a babysitter before. In high-school and in college, so I have experience."

"You have your diploma in psychology and you want to be a babysitter?" I arch my brow. I'm curious why is she doing this.

"Yeah... It's a whole story about it... But I would prefer to keep it for me." She says.

"Dadda?" He says from the couch. "Hungry." Oh...

"Is that him?" She says looking to Auden.

"Yeah, this is Auden and he's almost two years old." I smile. "Auden, come here." I say and he comes to me. He looks at Tessa and I don't expect him to be friendly, but he smiles at her.

"Hi, I'm Tessa. What your name?" She says as she extend her hand to him.

"Auden." He says with a big smile on his face and he grabs her hand. Oh, wow... Auden usually is really shy and he doesn't like to be around strangers, but with her... Everything is different.

"He likes you." I smile. "He usually is not comfortable around strangers. But it looks like he likes you."

"Hungry."

"Okay, okay. Tessa, would you mind if we continue this in the cafeteria downstairs?"

"No, no. I'm good."

We get up and I walk to Auden. I help him to get down from the couch and we go to the elevator. I press the button for the floor where the cafeteria is.

"What would you like to eat, buddy?"

"Cheese."

"Mac and cheese?"

"Yes."

"Alright."

"Does he have allergies?" Jo asks.

"No, he's a healthy kid, thank God!"

"That's really great." We arrive at the second floor where the cafeteria is and we walk to buy the food. I buy some mac and cheese for Auden, some mashed potato with steak for me.

"What would you like to eat? It's on me."

"It's okay, Mr. Scott. I'm not hungry."

"I insist, Tessa. And you can call me Hardin. Do you like carbonara?"

"I do."

"Good."

I buy our food and we go to a table and we start to eat. At least, Tessa and Auden because I have to help him. I see Tessa eating faster and when she's done, she looks at me.

"Let me help him. Eat your food before it's cold."

"Thanks." And with that, I know she's the perfect fit for Auden's nanny.

After we eat, we stay for a while there.

"I really like you, Tessa. And I want you to work for me."
