(Shuxin's home)

Shuxin froze for a moment. Who was this woman? What did she want? Her back was still facing the pair and she did not want to be rude, so she turned to face the boy and the woman.

"Greetings. My name is-" Shuxin thought for a moment, should she give them her name? If they wanted to kidnap her, they would've probably already done so.

"My name is Cheng Shuxin. If you wish to speak to my parents, I am afraid they're a bit busy right now. But, I could relay your message to them!" Shuxin was proud of herself for that bit. She was facing the conflict head on.

After a momentary pause, the young boy spoke up for the first time. If Shuxin guessed correctly, he was about her age.

"Are you sure this is the girl you were referring to, Mother?" asked the boy.

Shuxin froze. How did they know about her? Were they not here for her parents? Because if they were, she was lying about them being just a little bit busy. They were a whole lot of busy. They weren't even in the continent. They were in Europe, for a conference. The boy spoke up again.

"She seems weak and unreliable. She'll only be dragging us down." said the boy.

Ouch. Shuxin knew she wasn't all that great, but he didn't have to rub it in her face like that. Shuxin began to grow annoyed. Thankfully, the woman took notice of this and was quick to shut down the young boy's arrogance.

"Quiet. Damian." Said the woman.

So his name is Damian. Got it.

The woman stepped closer to Shuxin. She put her hand on Shuxin's shoulder and bent over to her eye level.

"My child, it is good to see you. Everything will make sense when we explain it to you. For now, you must come with us." said the woman.

Shuxin was confused. Why was this total stranger calling her "her child". Things were getting weird and Shuxin just wanted to go inside. Nonetheless, she stood frozen at her front gate until she gathered the courage to speak. Finally, she was able to utter a sentence.

"I'm sorry- but who... exactly... are you?" asked Shuxin.

The woman could tell her request was abrupt, but there was no time to consider anyone's feelings. Her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes narrowed.
