Pick Your Battles

Theo stands there for a long time. "Theo, I can explain-" I start, but he cuts me off.
"No Shai. How could you not tell me this!?"
His voice raising.
"I was going to tell you toni-"
"And how could you tell him first instead of me?" his voice booms.
My eyes start to water.
"Theo I'm sorry," I say.
"Sorry doesn't cut it Shai!"
I start to cry. Everyone is staring at us now.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you okay! I was going to!" I spit at him.
"Forget it Shai! I don't want to be part of this baby's life!" he roars at me.
I sit there in complete shock. I don't move at all.
"I came here to surprise you and this is what I get!?" and with that he storms off.
I look at Nahko and I burst into tears. "How bout I take you home?"
"No, I can drive myself home but thank you."

I get into my car and I take off. Whenever I get mad, I drive fast. Really fast. Tears are pouring out of my eyes. They blur my vision so I can't see the road. I see a pair of lights coming towards me, and then I hear a loud screech. I scream and then I hear nothing.

I wake up on the road. I look down and see something red. A dark red. Blood. It's all around me. I see flashing lights and hear shouts all around me.
"We need to get her to the ER now!"

They load me up in the ambulance and speed off. We arrive at the ER in no time. They rush me back into a room and from there, it's just a blur.

I wake up with someone touching my hand. It's Theo.
"Oh my God, Shai! I'm so happy you're awake!" 
Tears stream down his face.
"What do you want you bastard?"
"Shai I'm so sorry for what I said. I was just mad that you told Nahko before me."
"So you do want this baby?" I ask.
"Of course I do Shai."
Tears start to pour down my face. "Baby what's wrong?" Theo asks.
"The baby! What if I hurt the baby?" I cry.
"The doctor says that the baby's fine. I already asked." he coos.
"You really care about it don't you?"
"Of course." he replies. "Of course."

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been on vacation. I hope everyone is having a great summer! :)
