The next morning arrived with the kind of golden sunrise that looked like it belonged on a postcard—
if the postcard were sponsored by serenity and chaos at the same time. You shuffled into the kitchen, the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling the air as you expertly prepared your favorite breakfast. A little sizzling here, a clink of silverware there—nothing like the comforting sounds of a well-practiced morning routine to set the tone for the day.
As you sat down to enjoy your meal, savoring each bite, you glanced over at Yuji, who was still sprawled out on the couch, snoring softly. The kind of soft snore that barely even registered as sound, more like a distant, oddly rhythmic reminder of how much sleep he needed.
"Well, someone had a good night's sleep," you mused, raising an eyebrow. "You must've been really tired, huh?"
Yuji didn't stir.
You finished breakfast, wiped a stray dog hair off your uniform (it was a losing battle, honestly), and got ready. After making sure you looked perfectly put-together for whatever weird, twisted day awaited, you marched over to Yuji and gave his shoulder a gentle shake.
"Rise and shine, Yuji! Time to stop pretending to be a corpse," you said, trying to sound cheerful and urgent at the same time.
When that didn't work, you took his hand and dragged him out of the couch like a reluctant sack of potatoes.
The cool morning air greeted you both as you stepped outside, the world coming to life with the gentle sounds of birds singing their cheerful little tunes. You looked at Yuji and asked, "It's a beautiful morning, don't you think?"
He didn't answer, still looking half-dead.
But as you walked down the street, something... odd caught your attention. The familiar figures of Panda, Maki, Megumi, and Nobara were kneeling on the ground, their heads cleanly severed from their bodies. A pretty horrific sight that had no place in a "beautiful morning."
You looked at Yuji, who was clearly about to lose his breakfast.
"They were your followers," you began, your voice taking on a somewhat dramatic tone. "They had... their differences with me, but they fought to protect you. They gave it all for you, Yuji. They were waiting for this day. The day of resurrection..."
You were about to finish the thought when—wham—a flash of purple blurred your vision, followed by searing pain that had you on the ground in a blink. You looked over at Yuji, who seemed even more dead than usual, his eyes glazed over like someone who had just watched an entire season of a depressing anime until his eyes closed.
"Sukuna, save me."
It was almost a prayer, but you meant every word.
And then, the unmistakable figure of Gojo Satoru appeared. His white hair practically glowed in the sunlight. His purple hand, already glowing ominously, was pointed straight at you.
