in about, what felt like, 5 minutes, i was gasping for air in the inside of a room.
i wasn't familiar with my surroundings.
i wasn't in my room.
i look around a blue room, white curtains, machines beeping. it was so bright. i sat for a while, and began to feel pain, i wasn't too sure why. my vision was still blurry, but i was able to see the figure of a tall man walk into the room.
"hello? veronica? are you awake?"
"y, yes, where am i? what's happening? i thought i was dead." my voice became fainter and fainter as i asked him my questions.
"well, you're stable, that's good."
"please tell me what's going on."
"you're in Seton Memorial Hospital. you're here now, you're okay, you're getting a second chance at life."
"but, but i didn't want to have another chance at life... how did you even save me? i didn't tell anyone that i was going, at least i don't remember telling anyone..."
"your friend. ms. hayley young. she called telling us that you were going to commit suicide, and we were inside your house 10 minutes after you stopped breathing."
"damn it hayley! i should've never told her. where is she anyways?"
the beeping on the machine got faster, and my i started to feel more pain in my chest.
"please ms. ward. take some water and lay down, your heart rate going up isn't healthy for you."
then my vision slowly began to blur again, the loud beeping became even louder, and i closed my eyes once again.
