The next few days, Mackenzie was proud of Bella for settling in just fine. She knew the brunette was upset that Edward hadn't been to school. The red haired teen was concerned, as the Cullens hadn't missed so many days in a row. She really just wanted to hear the gossip about Bella going off on Edward.

It was one of the few days, Mack drove herself to school due to tutoring after school. She had yet to convince Bella to go with her, but Kim agreed to come today and help out. The two girls set up the tables by courses, and decided to go back and forth between the tables.

"Seriously, thank you. I hate that I feel like there's never enough me to go around." Mack said, feeling grateful Kim was helping out. Sienna and Matt would pop in from time to time, but tutoring was not their thing.

"I am the twin with the brains." Kim joked, causing the girls to laugh.

Seth, Jacob, Quil and Embry sat at different tables, causing the girls to have to swap every so often. So far this method seemed to work great. Until two new faces came in, well one new. Jared returned, but this time he wasn't alone. Mack grinned to herself when she saw Jared, and Kim's immediate blush. 

Jacob rolled his eyes at the sight of the older teens. He knew them, they were part of a more popular group. He wasn't the biggest fans of them, but at least they weren't Sam Uley. Mack gently smacked his arm at his attitude. Everyone was welcome for tutoring.

"Hey Jared, welcome back! English right? Kim can help you out." Mack said, grinning as she gestured to the raven haired female. "And you are?" She asked the new male. He was taller than Jared, a smirk present on his face unlike Jared's smile, overall he seemed cocky.

"Paul." He stated, as he looked the girl up and down.

"Cool, I'm Mack. What subject do you need help with?" Mack asked, as she gestured for the male to come in, instead of standing at the door.

"Chemistry." He winked, causing Mack to roll her eyes.

"Seriously? Or are you just trying to flirt? If it's the latter please get out, and comeback when you're serious." Mack said, shaking her head as she ignored the new guy, and went to help out Seth and Embry.

"Be careful with him, Mack. He's a player." Embry warned, not wanting to see his friend hurt, like the others from school.

"Please, he is not my type. If that was, I'd date some idiot from my school, we're full of them." Mack said, fuck boys were not her type. And though she just met him, Paul screamed fuck boy. "I'll hold out for someone like the guys from my books."

Mack would glance every so often at Jared and Kim, and couldn't help but feel happy about the two. Paul had made his way to the history table, and with reluctance Mack helped the boy out. Anytime he would flirt, Mack would be tempted to stab the pencil through his hand.

The next morning, Mack and Bella were walking out when Bella slipped on ice. Mack coughed to cover up her laugh as she helped her cousin up.

"You alright?" Charlie asked, as he exited Bella's truck.

"Yeah, I'm good. Ice doesn't really help the uncoordinated." Bella said, as the two girls walked to the truck.

"Yeah. That's why I had some new tires put on the truck. Mack's were just switched not too long ago. Gotta make sure you girls are safe out there." Charlie said, causing Mack to grin at him. "I'll probably be late for dinner. I gotta head down to Mason County. Security guard at the Grisham Mill got killed by some kind of animal." Charlie said, causing Mack to bite back her worry. 'He'll be okay, he has to' She thought.
