-Melody-
I hated it. Hated the X-Factor. Hated being separated from Harry. Hated the snooty girls I was put in a group with. But most of all, I hated Simon for putting me there. I tried to tell him we don't get along, but he won't listen! The only person here that understands, is Harry. But he gets along with his group very well. They're very nice boys, and I've grown to like them, but the girls I have to work with are so stuck up, and dumb, they wouldn't know what talent was if it hit them in the face. They're holding me back.
"Please Simon, I'm begging you! Take me out of this group, they're holding me back!" I pleaded. But he wouldn't listen.
"Look Miss Griffin, you should feel lucky to be here, and be willing to do anything to stay here. I'm not taking you out of that group, and that's final." He didn't understand. I did this for over a week, and I finally got my way.
"Please Simon, we don't even talk! The only time we talk is rehearsal and sometimes not even then! They're rude, snotty, stuck up brats that don't deserve a place here!"
"Alright! I'll take you out of that group! Just leave me alone!" Victory! I'm out of the horrible group! I was curled up on the couch in my room watching Kingsley videos on YouTube, when the knock at my door came. I opened the door and threw myself at the curly haired boy in front of me.
"Harry!"
"Hi Mel." He held me against him and we just stayed there for a long time.
"How were you able to come see me?"
"Simon favors us. He let me come visit for a while. What happened with your 'getting out of the group' business?"
"He let me leave. I hated those girls. They were always late to rehearsal, they didn't ever want to sit down and get to know each other, they didn't even know my name! Worst of all, they were holding me back, and without me, they're bound to be eliminated next week."
"Wow Mel, I've never seen you like this," he chuckled. That's because I don't like it here. But it's a huge opportunity for both of us. I pulled him in, and shut the door. "By the way Mel, I the lads will be over in ten, I wanted a little time with you first," he said with a smile. I nodded, and we sat down on the couch. We talked about our experience over the past few weeks without one another. Another knock, and 4 more boys were there. One of them holding a plastic pigeon.
"Hi Melody! I'm Louis!" the boy with the pigeon said. "And this is Kevin!" He held up the pigeon and smiled.
"I'm Niall!" the cute blonde one said.
"I'm Liam, and he's Zayn." The one called Zayn just nodded. They entered and sat on the couch with Harry.
"Well as you guys already know, I'm Melody!" I said, somewhat shyly. I wasn't good with people, ok.
"Melody, do you have any food?" Niall asked.
"Sorry, no." He looked sad, and a little horrified.
"No wonder you're so skinny!" I tensed at his comment. I was this skinny because my uncle Ryan underfed me.
"Niall."
"Yes Haz?"
"Stop talking." Harry walked over to me and hugged me tight.
"Was it something I said?"
"I told you to watch what you say Niall," Harry growled. A tear slipped down my cheek, thinking about my past was always hard. I had grown used to that feeding pattern, so I never eat a lot.
"Harry it's ok, he didn't know." Harry remained angry but he eventually got over it. Anyway, Louis and the lads were an insensitive bunch, but they made me laugh like never before. Louis is the eldest, but he acts completely the opposite. You would think he was a 5 year old in a man's body. liam on the other hand, acts as if he's 30.
"Let's get some food!" Niall shouted. He got out his phone and ordered Nando's.
"Louis, we should call and send some food to Simon's!" I suggested.
"Brilliant! Harry your friend is a bloody genius. I love her already!" Louis said, grabbing his phone. He ordered a Peri Peri Chicken and drink, and gave the person Simon's room number. When our order arrived, we stepped out in the hall and waited.
"Niall James Horan!!" shouted a voice. We pushed and shoved to get into my room whilst laughing our heads off.
"Louis!" Niall whined.
"Sorry Ni, I had to!" Louis said between laughs. Our laughter ended when someone banged on my door.
"Hide!" Niall whisper shouted. The boys hid and I answered the door to see a pissed off Simon.
"Where are they?" he growled.
"I don't know, check their room."
"I know they're here. They begged to come here."
"They're not here."
"Explain that laughter I heard then."
"YouTube video. Sorry Simon, I have no idea where they are. But if you're trying to find Niall, check the kitchen. Good day." I closed the door and waited for his footsteps to fade. I checked the hallway before allowing them to come out.
"You are bloody brilliant Melody!" Louis cooed.
"Yeh, you lied to him like nothing! Didn't stutter, didn't look to the floor, looked him dead in the eye!" Zayn commented. It was true. I'd used my talent all through school to my teachers.
"Thanks guys, I try," I giggled. Harry gave me a look and sighed. He knew first hand how I lied, he had been a victim.
"Sleepover!" Louis shouted. The boys and I slept on my sitting room floor. I was in between Harry and Louis, Harry's arm around me.
"For the nightmares," he had said. I liked it. He made me feel safe. He made me feel special. I actually slept peacefully that night, no nightmares, no waking up multiple times, just a peaceful, dreamless sleep. And it felt good.
