The Promise

Chapter 9

-Harry-

As I watch Louis run after Melody, I realize something. I've broken my promise. I walk up a little and see the necklace I gave her on the ground. The chain is broken, and so is her heart. I look at Liam, and feel the tears welling up in my eyes. He seems to have a look of pain as well. But not because I broke my promise, because Melody said she doesn't like him. I want to run after her, but she won't talk to me. I walk back to the room, and lock myself in my room. I curl up under the duvet, and just hold the pendant to my chest. I have no idea how long I stay like that, but a little while after, Zayn pulls the duvet back.

"Mate, I know you're hurting, but you need to get over it. What you two did was unacceptable, and I don't blame her for being angry."

"But Zayn, you don't understand. I broke a simple promise. It's eating me alive, and I don't know how I can ever forgive myself for this." I wipe away a few stray tears, and pull the duvet back over my head. I hear Zayn sigh, and walk away.

-Zayn-

I walk over to Melody's room, and knock on her door. She needs to know just how much she's hurt him. She answers and steps aside for me to come in.

"Yes Zayn?"

"You need to go forgive him."

"What?"

"Harry. He's broken now. He broke his promise on accident and now he can't live with himself. I've never seen him like this Melody. He's so fragile, and I feel like if I mess with him he's going to shatter. Please forgive him."

"Zayn, I can't just forgive and forget. What he did was horrible, and I don't think I'll be forgiving him anytime soon."

"Fine. You don't have to, but I would like you to think of him. Think of how he's going to feel when you ignore him, and have fun with the rest of us." I give her a last long look, and storm out, slamming the door behind me. She's really done it now. She's broken him into a million tiny pieces. Never to be put back together.

I know it's short, but it's something. So Harry has broken his promise, and now he's broken inside. Depressing. I know. I'll have more soon enough, vote and comment please!
