The Promise

Chapter 19

-Harry-

"Thank you 'Rhythmix'!" the judges said. They bowed, and walked off the stage. I remember when that was us. Now it's Melody. She got her wish. I miss her so much.

"You know, watching her succeeding isn't going to help you get over her." I turned and saw Liam leaning against the door frame.

"I don't want to get over her. I want to see her happy. She said that she wanted to be like us, like me. Now she has the exact same thing. It makes me wonder, if magic is real." Liam laughed, and sat down on the arm of the chair I was sitting in.

"I understand that, but I think you haven't truly let her go. You still worry and stuff. Worrying is okay, but if you really want to let her go, you'll stop watching her all the time. Stop watching re-runs of the X-Factor all day long. You should come to dinner with us tonight."

"Where are you guys going?"

"We're going to some Italian place Louis found on the internet. It's just up the road. You need to get out. Have a little fun." Before he left, he added, "We leave in about half an hour. If you don't want to come, we'll bring you something back." He's right. I need to get out. I need to meet people.

"Well Harry, I guess you're going out tonight," I said to myself. I went in my room, and put on some jeans and a Ramones t-shirt. I messed with my curls until I was satisfied with them, and went out to where the lads were getting ready to leave.

"He's alive!" Louis shouted. He ran up and gave me a tight hug.

"Good to see you too, Louis," I chuckled.

"Good to have you back mate," Zayn said with a smile. Niall came out of his room looking hungry.

"Alright mates, let's go get some food!" We all cheered, and followed him out. He just got his license, so he was going to drive one of the cars we had. When I was settled in the passenger seat in Niall's car, I stared out the window until we passed the X-Factor building. And by passed, I mean we stopped outside it.

"I'll be back," Zayn said, getting out.

"Where's he going?" I asked.

"He's picking up his girlfriend." Perrie. He came out with not just Perrie, but another girl. I opened the door, and saw Melody and Perrie with Zayn.

"Melody!" She squinted at me, and then her face lit up.

"Harry!" We ran to each other like in the movies, and hugged it all out. "I missed you Harry. So much."

"I missed you too. Are you coming to dinner with us?"

"No, Perrie just wanted me to come outside for once. She also thought I ought to come out and say hello to you guys. Is that Niall in the car?"

"Yeah, you can go say hi if you want." She ran over to the car, and Niall jumped out and twirled her around. He's always treated her like a princess. When they met, he was quite inconsiderate, but he's grown since then. He now treats he rlike he would treat any girl he loved. We had to teach him how to act around girls, and how to act toward them. He went to an all boys school, so he had no idea. I remember when we first met. There was a girl he really liked while he was in the X-Factor. Her name was Maddie Joseph. When he first approached her, she looked at him like he was a mad man. When we fixed him, she liked him a little better. He made his first female friend in Maddie. Now he has Melody.

"We've missed you so much," I heard Niall say. They talked for a bit, then we had to go.

"It was nice seeing you Harry," she said, giving me a hug.

"It was nice seeing you too Melody. I've really missed you." She took the photo we took out of her pocket.

"I carry it with me wherever I go.It never leaves my pocket. Except on washing day and when I change pants." I just chuckled, and kissed her cheek.

"I'm waiting for you," I said, pulling her closer.

"Why?"

"Because. Unlike some people, I believe in magic." I kissed her cheek again, and got into our car. Niall started it, and drove away.
