Chapter 15

The next day, we went to the hospital, we were shocked to see that Harry was out in the hall. When we asked what happened, he wouldn't say. So, we went into the room to check it out for ourselves. We were all really shocked to see Melody sitting up, talking to Louis.

"Melody!" We shout at the same time. We started to go up and hug her, but Louis stopped us.

"Lads, this isn't the Melody we know and love. Melody lost her memories," he said quickly. We all look at Melody, and she looks back at us, almost lost. No. No, she can't have lost her memories.

"No, no this can't have happened. Melody, you remember me, right? It's me, Liam," I walked forward and took her hand in mine. She quickly pulled it away, to me it seemed out of disgust, but it was out of fear.

"I don't know who you are, please don't touch me," she whimpered. She really doesn't know who we are. I try to stop the tears from coming, but I fail. I ran out of the room, and into the hallway. I leaned against the wall, and slid down onto the floor. I put my arms around my knees, and buried my face in the gap. After a little while, a hand went to my shoulder.

"Excuse me, are you alright sir?" I looked up and saw that the voice belonged to a nurse. A nurse with long blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and braces. She looked about my age, and she was worried about me.

"No, my best friend doesn't know who I am."

"Oh, you're one of Melody's friends."

"How do you know her?"

"I'm the nurse that tends to her. I check her blood pressure, I check her monitors, and everything else every once in a while. She talks in her sleep, and when I'm checking on her, I catch some names. It's always the same ones." Names?

"Yes sir. She says Harry the most, Louis on occasion, Liam a few times, Niall, and Zayn is more of a rare thing," she said, helping me up. She remembers, but she can't activate that part of her brain yet! I need to keep the hope alive that I'll have my best friend back.

"Thank you so much," I said, hugging her.

"No problem! I'm Ally by the way," she said, extending a hand.

"Liam." We shake, exchange numbers, and bid each other goodbye. I go back to Melody's room, and see her talking to the rest of the lads, except Harry. She remembers little things, like being on the X-Factor. She vaguely remembers moving in with Harry, but she remembers the years she spent with her uncle, and the accident. For the first time, she shows us her scars from that accident. She said  that they were on their way to London to visit Melody's gran, when they were hit from behind. They still don't know by who. The car swerved, and they went over the highway railing into the traffic below. The windshield shattered, earning her some scars on her arms, and several more cars hit, causing her to be nearly crushed in the back seat.

When the police found her, they said she was a miracle. She almost died, but she pulled through. She has a scar on her back from where a seat belt dug into her skin when the other cars hit. She goes into her time with her uncle, and then something interesting comes out of her mouth.

"I remember a boy. A boy with curly hair, saving me one night." Louis rushed out, and came back with Harry.

"Is this the boy you remember?" he asked.

"Yes, that's him. I remember him saving me from a man that was hitting me." Harry's face lit up like a Christmas tree, and he took Melody's hand.

"Yes, yes, that was me! Do you remember anything else?"

"I remember that you liked to steal my underclothes." Harry laughed, and nodded.

"Yes, I did, anything else you can think of?" She closed her eyes, and scrunched up her face a bit before opening them again.

"I remember a kiss. Were we together or something?" she asked, her hazel eyes locked on Harry's green orbs.

"Yes, we were. I have something for you. Something that might help you remember." He reached into his pocket, and pulled out the silver paper airplane pendant. When he pulled his hand away from hers, her eyes widened, and she pulled it closer to her heart.

"Harry?"
