After meeting Lisa and Chaeyoung at the coffee shop, Jennie hurried to her office. Her heels clicked loudly in the hallway. When she opened the door, she expects to see her patient, but to her dissapointment no one was there.

She sighed and checked her phone. There was a message from her patient, canceling today's appointment since Jennie was very late and her patient had other errands to do. Jennie sighed again, feeling frustrated.

Just then, she heard the elevator ding, meaning someone was coming out. She turned to see her cousin Jisoo stepping out, holding a lunch bag.

"Hey, Jennie!" Jisoo greeted cheerfully.

Jennie forced a smile, but it didn't reach her eyes.

"Hi, Jisoo."

Jisoo's smile faded as she approached Jennie. "What's wrong?" she asked, looking concerned.

Jennie reached for her forehead and sighed. "My patient cancelled on me." she explained.

Jisoo placed the lunch bag on Jennie's desk. "Oh? wow that's so inconsiderate of them for making you wait."

Jennie looked down, feeling a bit guilty. "I.. actually it's the other way around.. They've cancelled because I was late."

Jisoo's eyes went wide. "What?! but you're literally the most punctual person I know."

Jennie winced with Jisoo's sudden outburst "I know I know.. I just have a lot on my mind."

"Yeah.. I've noticed you've been distracted lately. For instance, at our dinner last night, I couldn't even talk to you properly because your attention was on your phone."

Suddenly the room went silent for a moment, the only sound in the room being the faint hum of the air conditioner. Jisoo broke the silence, gently placing a hand on Jennie's shoulder.

"Hey... Whatever's troubling you, I'm all ears." Jisoo said softly, her eyes full of concern.

But Jennie only stayed silent, her thoughts drifting to Lisa. She wondered what Lisa was up to today, especially after what happened with her client. She felt a pang a bit of pain in her chest, worrying about Lisa.

"Yah! Jennie, talk to me." Jisoo urged, her voice cutting through Jennie's thoughts.

Jennie replied, changing the subject. "Hey, Jisoo, last night you told me the company needs more photographers right?"

"Wow, so you were listening. Yeah that's right, why did you ask?"

Jennie shrugged. "I just happen to know someone I think would fit perfectly for the job."

"Who?"

"Her name is Lalisa Manoban."

Lisa

I sat in my small office, surrounded by the equipment and props meant for Ms. Choi's photoshoot. Still feeling bummed out, I started calling some of my team to let them know the shoot was cancelled.

"I'm really sorry, guys," I said into the phone, trying to keep my voice steady. "The shoot is off. I'll make sure to pay you all for the trouble."

One by one, I made the calls, feeling more and more frustrated with each one. After the last call, I dropped my phone on the desk and sat on the floor. I buried my face in my hands, feeling sorts of mixed emotions.

"How did my life get so messed up?" I muttered to myself, stopping myself from crying.

A memory then flashed back in my mind which I've been trying so hard to forget started coming back.

It was a year ago, the day I was supposed to meet my ex-girlfriend, Somi, for a date beside the Han River. I was rushing that time cause I was running a bit late. But when I got there, I saw something that shattered my whole world. Somi was there, kissing someone else.

When I confronted Somi about it, she got mad and turned the fucking table around, saying it was actually my fault, that I've been so busy with my work and didn't give her time. I can't really blame her that much, because she was right, I was so focused on the company that time because it was still new, I wanted it to become successful, since it was my long dream to be a known photographer. That's why I moved here in Seoul 7 years ago to study and build my small company here.

but my plan took a slight turn when I met Somi during the start of making my own company.

She became one of my close friends after
Chaeyoung and eventually something more for 2 years, but it all went gone when she cheated on me.

Since that day, my life had felt meaningless. She ruined my trust. She ruined me. She is the reason why I got distracted that made me lose focus on my company, which had been on the brink of success that time. Her betrayal had consumed me, and I had struggled to keep everything together.

"It's been almost a year," I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes. "And it still fucking hurts." I sobbed out. This is probably the reason why Chaeyoung wanted me to seek some professional help. She noticed that until now I'm still not doing fine and was hiding it by drowning myself with work.

After an hour of crying my heart out, I heard my phone ringing, I was going to answer it but suddenly someone knocked on the door.

Seeing the person behind it made my blood ran cold.

"Hello, Lisa."

"Somi.." I breathed out.
