Dr. Jennie Kim adjusted her glasses and glanced at the clock. It was almost time for her next patient. She once again read her patients name in the files she's holding.
"Lalisa Manoban..."
Suddenly a gentle knock on the door broke her thoughts. "Come in," she yelled for the person to hear.
A young woman with a gentle smile entered. Jennie stood up, offering a warm greeting.
"Hello, Lisa. I'm Dr. Jennie Kim, I'll be your psychiatrist from now on. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Hi, Dr. Kim. Nice to meet you too," Lisa replied, a bit nervous.
Sitting down, Lisa glanced around the office, in awe from the calming colors and soft lighting in her psychiatrist's office.

Jennie looked at Lisa, noticing her anxious posture.
"So, Lisa, what brings you here today? Tell me a bit about yourself."
Lisa took a deep breath, while she fidgets her fingers.
"Well, to be honest, it wasn't really my idea to come here, but my bestfriend, Chaeyoung suggested that I should, she told me that going to therapy might help with my problems.
Jennie nodded, she noticed lisa being a bit hesitant but she encourages her to continue. "Go ahead, Lisa. No need to be uncomfortable, I'm here to listen and help, not to judge you."
Lisa shared about her being homesick to her home country, Thailand, that she can't go back because of her failing photography business "Lili Films," and the heartbreak from her past relationship with Somi.
Jennie felt empathy for this young woman who had been through so much.
"It sounds like you're carrying a lot, Lisa. It's okay to feel overwhelmed about these," Jennie said gently.
Tears welled up in Lisa's eyes. "I just... I don't know what to do with these endless problems."
Jennie handed her a tissue. "You're not alone, Lisa. We'll work through this together."
As the session ended, Lisa felt a weight lifted. But little did she know, this meeting with her psychiatrist would change her life forever.
