ON THE NEMESIS...
Danielle panted, gazing around frantically as screams and sounds of war disorientated her other senses. The whole scene around her was crazy, chaotic, and just plain awful. Giant robots-she knew as Cybertronians-were battling in head-to head combat, their moves calculated and precise, as if they had faced each other many times before. Kids, some older and some younger than her, were locked in a similar form of fighting, their partially human identities and partial Cybertronian identities the one thing that linked them, and the one thing that made them challenging adversaries.
An unfamiliar girl, obviously younger than Danielle, swiftly approached her with two nimble, futuristic blades in each hand, her face was bruised and cut in some places already, and she raised her back hand to strike. She piercing green eyes, boring through the visor on her helmet, that met her own brown ones. In defence, Danielle held out her hand, and a blast shot from it, striking the girl directly in the spark. She fell with a thud and an expression on her face burned in Danielle's mind forever.
"Nicely done, Whisper," a familiar, menacing voice praised from behind her, and she spun around to face none other than Lord Megatron, her leader. The girl was speechless, unsure of what to say. There was a feeling inside that was eating away at her, making her want to vomit and scream at what she had just done.
Was it right?
"I-I," she stuttered, glancing prolongedly at the preteen' limp body, brown hair tangled and forever open green eyes. Guilt stabbed at her spark to the point of pain. She had a life, friends, family. She was the same as her. The only thing that differed between them was the mark they bore,
And one was a murderer.
"I'm not going to do this."
"Shame," Megatron said with some fake remorse in his tone that was hard to miss as he raised his arm, and his cannon fired straight at her spark.
Scenes flashed before her eyes just before the shot hit. Some familiar Decepticons- Megatron, Starscream, Knockout and more- in a strange looking place, locked in combat with other Cybertronians she had never seen before. Images of a futuristic-looking lab, with large, clear tubes of vibrant green and blue colour liquid, wires hanging here and there, and monitors with blinking lights. Scenes of war.
Scenes of death.
Danielle shot up, throwing the thin blanket off of her top half in the process, revealing her shimmering body, glistened with sickly sweat. This was the second or third, time she had had this dream, and the seventh time she had dreamed of anything of the sort. Her sleeping time during her first week on the Nemesis was being robbed from her by these dreams. How was she supposed to work to her extent of her abilities if she was too tired and heavy from lack of sleep?
"Ugh." Hope groaned from above and glared down at her. "Do you mind? I am trying to sleep here!"
Danielle glanced down off the edge of her top bunk, sighing and running a hand through her hair.
"Sorry," she said indifferently, her tone empty and blank. She cleared her throat and glanced around the room. These dreams were getting out of hand. Jumping down from her bed with a thud, she slipped on a t-shirt over her tank top.
"Don't go waking up the Nemesis. Don't want 'nother lecture from Starscream about his beauty-recharge." The red-haired girl murmured as she rolled over and yanked the blanket higher over her shoulder. Danielle ignored her, and opening their dorm door with the push of a button, stepped out into the hallway. She was thankful the boys' dorm was practically next door, she was too tired to make a trip any farther at that hour. Approaching the door, she closed her eyes and sighed before knocking three times on the door.
