Chapter 7 - Mother-Daughter Day

Two days.

That's how long it's been since Dalia and I have been in Kostas.

My father has made his appointment with his doctor, his brain surgery is scheduled for next week.

My mother has yet to meet Dalia. Not that I complain. That's one less person bothering me about her eyes.

If I could get through this trip without revealing Dalia's father's identity I would be forever grateful.

I remember the promise I made myself seven years ago. But I also knew how to find a way around it. If Prince Kaiden didn't know he had a daughter, I had nothing to avenge. But if he found out; that was another story.

"This is so good mommy," Dalia gushes as she eats her breakfast.

"You eat this back at home," I chuckle, cutting my pancakes.

"Yeah, but it tastes different here," Dalia rolls her eyes, "much better."

"Do you want to go out today?" I ask her, "I can take you to my favorite places."

"Yes!"

"Alright," I smile at her, "we'll go after you finish your breakfast."

"You're bringing me to the zoo?"

Dalia's eyes widen as we walk to buy our tickets.

"Yes," I tell her, smiling down at her, "my dad used to bring me here a few times a year."

"And you never grew tired of it?"

"Well, we didn't come to see the animals," I explain to her.

"Then what did you come to see?" Her aquamarine eyes look up at me wide with curiosity.

"You'll see."

After buying our tickets, we entered the zoo.

"Can we see now?" Dalia has been asking the same question for the past hour.

"Yes," I finally say, and direct her to a cabin where a few people were lining up.

We walked in to a small screen room and sat down in the middle row.

"We're watching a movie?" I nod and motion for her to quiet down as the lights turn off.

"That movie was so cute!" Dalia exclaims as we walk out with the crowd, and I hear the people in front of us chuckle and turn around to glance at my little girl.

"It was," I agree with her, "it's a different one each time I come. But they are all very sentimental."

"Can we come again when they show another film mommy?" Dalia asks me as we make our way out of the zoo.

"If we're still in Kostas, yes."

"Where to next?" Dalia asks as we settle into my old car.

"The park?"

"Ok."

"Ready to go home?" I ask her when the sun was setting down in the horizon.

"Yes."

We had spent the rest of the day at the park, only stopping to go eat lunch at a restaurant close by.

I drove home and nearly cursed when I got to the premises and see the same Jaguar as the other day parked in the driveway and Prince Kaiden standing on the doorway with my mother. Both looking at my car.

"Mommy who are they?" Dalia asks when she sees them.

"That's your grandmother," I look over at her and sigh, "and your dad."

** I know it's short. But I didn't want to get into the big scene in this chapter. It will definitely be next chapter, as the ending states.

Thanks for reading ^_^

Take care,
