Shadow x F!Reader

Shadow x (Berserk) F!reader.

Shadow and Y/n went into a battle. Thinking it would be an easy mission that they were able to carry but they were underestimated. In the transport, Y/n waited next to Shadow with their arms crossed. "We got this in the bag, right Shadow?" She puts her fist up for Shadow to bump. The black and red stripped hedgehog, opens his eyes and a smirk curved up on his lips. Lifting his hand to bump the girl's fist effortlessly, "Certainly."

During the battle, all of their forces seems to be taken down. Only leaving Y/n and Shadow last standing around the fiery battlefield. Her heart pounding against her chest as her eyes darts everywhere for any signs of enemy coming their way. Getting caught off guard, Shadow was taken away by two giant robots from behind that seem to have a lot of strength in their arms since Shadow seems to be struggling in their grasp. Not to mention he was already tired and injured.

"Shadow!" Y/n calls out, shooting out the enemy in her way before rushing to save Shadow. In her vision, Shadow struggled to break free, his quills pressed back against the robot's chest. Y/n grew irritate and her steps extends faster, only to be knocked back by a swing of an arm from a robot. She groans in pain as the back of her head hits a pole with a loud thud. Her vision went blurry momentarily but she refuses to let the enemy take Shadow away.

Fast footsteps speed across the grassy ground. Her surrounding was dark but visible through the dim fog in the forest. Panting quite frequently as she pauses her track near a large tree. Her ears perked up for any sound of what she might find. The battle ended, lucky for them reinforcement came at the last minute. Y/n leaves the battle to the reinforcement to take care of.

Ignoring the deep cut in her leg and arm, she was eager, desperate to find her lover. Not that she doesn't trust him but got worried something might have happened to him during the battle. Searching across the forest, about to tear up when she couldn't sense Shadow everywhere. She could try and call out for him but she knows that will be useless in a large forest. 

Noticing a large tree nearby. Half of her wants to take a rest and forget the situation right now but the other half was consuming the other which was finding her partner until her legs give out on her. Her love and care for Shadow was overwhelming, so a tear drops to the ground as she rushes into the forest to find her partner like her life depends on it.

The forest only got darker. But luckily there was no more fog blocking her vision, just darkness. Holding her arm tightly, trying to stop the blood from coming out so much. Damn those robot jerks. 

Y/n was at her breaking point. One more step and she could pass out. But controlled by her pride and dignity, she refuses to fall now. Not until she finds Shadow. She was far too deep into the forest to go and search elsewhere. Her shaky bloody legs desperately tried to hang on. Y/n leans against a tree for support as she hisses in pain. Looking around for one last time, her vision slowly getting blurry. 

Maybe it was her imagination, maybe it was her head playing tricks with her but she could see a familiar orange light coming towards her. Tried focusing her view, the light was still just a dot of light in her eyes. But that didn't stop Y/n from thinking it was her beloved, Shadow. 

Her eyes flew open in realization. Stumbled forward before rushing to the light of hope. It could be anything, help, reinforcement, but she desperately wishes it is Shadow. Alive that is. 

The light only got closer to her, slowly Y/n's vision clears up. It wasn't a person but rather a place. Burning up. A village. On fire. ARSOOOON- my bad. People were screaming, shouting for help. Her eyes widened in shock, the fire reflecting in her eyes. Y/n wanted to turn back and focus on her main priority, finding Shadow. But her heart refuses to let the village burn into ashes. 

Tempted, she bites her lower lip. Eyes darting back and forth at the burning village and the dark forest. A thought overcame her, if no one stops the fire, it might spread and become a wildfire. Shadow himself would jump into the fire to save the people. With a loud huff and groan, Y/n in a critical condition ran into the village.

Getting stuck people out of their houses, gathering them in a safe place away from the fire. Thankfully for the few villager who was willing to help her gather water from the nearby river and put out the fire. The outcome of it, Y/n got several more injuries. Burns and scratches here and there. 

She's thankful that ALL the villagers manages to escape safely. Their stuff wasn't that's for sure- okay mb again. The chief of the village noticed the wounds on Y/n's body and offered a treatment. Y/n, driven by her stubbornness, she kindly refuses. She needed to find Shadow. 

(LMAO IDK TO PUT EITHER THE VILLAGE HELPS HER OR SHE JUST RUNS OFF TO FIND SHADOW AGAIN. EITHER WAY BOTH HAVE THE SAME OUTCOME.)

Y/n was at the point where she was dragging her leg wherever she walked. The longer Y/n searches for her partner, she began to notice the sun rising. Facing towards the sun, something else caught her attention. Something gliding towards her. A smile curves up her lips, slowly growing wider when she realizes there was no mistaking that is Shadow. What else? She forced her legs to run towards the sun rise. Tearing up as the figure got more clearer. It was Shadow. He was running towards her with the same pace. A bit wounded but Y/n could care less, she's just happy that Shadow is alive. 

Crashing into each other's arms, Y/n embraced him tight like he was the last living on the earth. Sobbing her eyes out, laughing it out. "You're alive!" She exclaims, hugging him tighter. Shadow only chuckles then sighs and returned the tight embrace. "I was worried.. I looked for you everywhere." He mutter into Y/n's shoulder. She pulls away, hands on his shoulders, Y/n gave him a happy mixed with scowling face. "YOU were worried!? I was at the brick of death!" She laughs, wanting to kiss the black hedgehog more than anything. 

"Either way, I'm glad you're okay..." Y/n sighed, pulling him into a hug again. Shadow only nods, feeling the same way as he leans his head into hers. Noticing her bleeding leg and arm, his eyes flew open. "Y/n..." He mumbles worriedly, realizing she wasn't joking about being at the brick of meeting death. "We're taking you to the hospital now." He said in a dismissive tone, not accepting any protest from Y/n. 

"Huh?" Y/n hums in confusion, completely forgetting her injuries when she's with Shadow. The spare didn't wait any longer to pick her up and skate out of the forest. Y/n only clung her arms around him and stayed close to him. She wouldn't let him go even if it means going to the surgery room. (real, it happened when they arrived at the hospital)

EXTRAAAAA 

"Care for a muffin?" Shadow offers, a freshly baked muffin in his palm. Y/n, had bandages on her leg and arm, mostly everywhere. Admiring the view outside the balcony, smiled and accepts the offer. "Do I!" She beams, taking the muffin from Shadow and wasted no time to unwrap it and takes a bite. Shadow shakes his head, smiling faintly at Y/n antics. It was adorable. How easy going she could be yet so serious when a love one is at state. 

"You're adorable." He pinches her puffed out cheek before going back to his book. Y/n whines in protest, rubbing her cheek as she exaggeratingly rolled her eyes away. Then something came to her head, sitting next to Shadow she asks, "Hey, how did you even manage to escape the robots?" Curious how he manages to take down both of the robots while she's gone. 

Shadow only scoffs, putting down his cup of coffee. His gaze softens as he faced Y/n, his mouth opens to speak. Y/n waited, expecting a detailed story coming from her partner. 

"I'm the ultimate lifeform." 

"...bruh-"
