Stepping inside the warmness of his small apartment, Felix slammed the door closed behind him and locked it. Once the door was physically secured, he pulled a bag of salt from the table next to the door to make sure it was secure spiritually. The bag was opened and salt was sprinkled at the doorstep, added to the already existing piles. Felix looked at the newly formed line of salt for more enforcement with satisfaction before he dropped the bag on the table again and walked towards his living room.

He sighed heavily and plopped down on the couch. His backpack was shoved somewhere along with his kicked shoes. He closed his eyes and threw his arm over his face. He was dead tired from the long day he had at work and yet, he had to deal with the intruders around his house. More specifically, one intruder.

"Knock knock!" The feminine voice echoed making the poor boy sighs in frustration. "Open up for me, pretty boy."

Felix ignored the voice and stood up to his feet to head to his room. He didn't spare a glance at the window where he knew she would be standing behind. He walked down the corridor to the room, still ignoring the knocking sounds and her voice. Once he was in his bedroom, he yanked his shirt over his head, exposing his torso.

"Wow," She gasped after letting a wolf whistle. "I will never get tired of that view." She talked from behind the bedroom window.

Again, Felix ignored her. He grabbed a clean shirt and his sweatpants before heading to the shower. Luckily, the dripping sound of the water in his shower masked her voice that was echoing in the water pipes. That didn't last for long because the second he turned off the water, her sound echoed even louder, making his body shiver. He was sure his neighbors would be scared to death from the inhumane sounds she was making in the water pipes and vents all night.

Felix stepped inside his bedroom again after he was dry and in clean clothes, yawning widely. He dropped straight to the bed and stuffed his face in the fluffy soft pillow. His eyes were drooping already and he was drifting to dreamland. Just before he completely left, his eyes shot open and his hand reached for the nightstand to pull a necklace. A cross necklace. He passed the necklace over his head and rested the cross on his chest before he closed his eyes again and fell deep in his sleep.

"Babe, why are you complicating it?" She whined. "We'll just play a little. Let's have fun."

The cross he was wearing wasn't the only one in his possession. His room's walls were all covered with crosses, odd masks from Indian myths, parts of animals' bodies like a rabbit's foot, and yellow papers of magical spells written with blood. The windows were covered with those spells too along with the salt piles that lined them. The vents, manholes, chimneys, and whatever opening connecting this house to the world outside had those items for protection.

Protection from the entities that weren't supposed to be in this world anymore but somehow, managed to stay among the living. Just like her. The virgin ghost that started following him a month ago and didn't give up on him.
