Lucy showed up at Damian's doorstep shortly after her argument with her father. Damian opened the front door to a surprise visit by Lucy. "Lucy, is everything okay?" He asked when he saw the bag. "I wish I could say that... but you and I have to talk." A concerned expression washed over the young Robin's face. "Did something happen with your father?" He asked. "Why? So you can put him away?" She snapped. "Lucy... y'know that's not what I meant." He said. "But deep down we both know that's what you want." His expression turned hurt, "Now you know that isn't fair Lucy. I'm trying to help you. It's not my intention at all." Lucy crossed her arms, "How do I know it isn't? You've hurt me once before Damian... I want to believe it's real, that we're real, but how do I know that you aren't using me like you were before." Damian stepped aside to let Lucy in, it's obvious they need to talk. Lucy and Damian walked toward the family room, the two sat right next to each other on the couch.
"What is this about Lucy?" He asked. "I had an argument with my father... I'm sorry." Damian expression softened, his eyes filled with understanding. "Hey, no need to apologize. I'm here for you. Now, tell me what happened." Lucy took a deep breath, her voice trembling. "I may or may not have told him about our relationship, well that I was in a relationship. He seemed supportive at first. Then I left and came back because I forgot something and when I did come back, he had my diary in his hand. Not only did he find out about us, he found about who you were, your real identity. And I know that was incredibly careless of me to write it down." Damian reached for her hand, "No... it's fine. Continue." Lucy nodded, "We argued over the fact that he invaded my privacy and he was also arguing over the fact that I'm with you. He wants me to be happy but a relationship is what he describes as what I don't need right now. Especially with you. He fears you'll get in the way. He fears... you will use me again. And the fact that I already have a target on my back, if I'm caught with you as you are the boy wonder, that's going to cause even more turmoil in the crime world."
Damian should've known this is what would've resulted in their argument. Maybe this relationship shouldn't have happened in the first place. "And what is your thoughts Lucy..." He asked. "I want to be with you. Of course I do. I just... my father, I know he's coming from a good place." Damian raised an eyebrow, "how do you know? I think he just wants you by his side no matter what." Lucy nodded, "I plan on talking to him tomorrow. I decided we needed some space from each other. Our conversation tonight wasn't going anywhere so I decided it was a good time to end it." Damian nodded understandingly, "Good. Just know... you deserve to be happy. If that is with me or without me is your choice. Don't let your father dictate your choices." Lucy smiled, "I feel better already." Damian smiled in return giving her a gentle kiss in the lips, "Good."
The two pulled away and smiled at each other. "Sorry to invade your space Wayne, I probably could've just went to Selina's." Damian shook his head, "I don't trust Selina's influence on you. You came to the right place." Lucy chuckled, "Someone's still a little bitter that I outsmarted him." Damian stood up from the couch, "I wouldn't say outsmarted if I still caught you." Lucy scoffed, "More like... let go. Because I'm too beautiful for Arkham." Damian's eyes narrowed playfully, "Keep telling yourself that." Lucy stood up from the couch, her arms crossed as she faced Damian. "If I could do that day all over again, trust me, I wouldn't have gone that easy." Damian scoffed playfully, "and I still would've caught you." Lucy immediately threw a pillow in his face and took off into the huge manor.
Damian laughed and immediately took after her, chasing her through the manor. "Don't think you can outrun me Quinn, I know this place like the back of my hand." He shouted his footsteps echoing throughout the halls. Lucy's laughter echoed back, "And I like to explore!" Damian's laughter grew louder as he chased Lucy through the winding corridors of the manor. He knew every nook and cranny, every hidden passageway and secret room. But Lucy was quick and agile, dodging and weaving through the furniture with ease.
