Here it is! Chapter 13! Hope you enjoy it!
Down below, in the empty streets, Chase ran at superspeed until he was halfway down the street, then stopped and turned around leftwards, facing Humdinger Heigths. Even from that distance, he heard a faint screaming sound, which came from Humdinger Heights, the screaming sounding familiar, like it came from Ryder, as he watched the tower structure fall downwards, impacting the building to the right, the top crashing into the centre of the building, the structure beneath the top protruding from the side, a hole down the side of the building, the tower now level between the two building, wreckage falling down onto the streets. Chase's eyes and mouth widened, not at the destruction, but upon the realisation that Ryder was in that section of the tower, hence the scream. "Ryder!" He yelled out, before he ran in that direction at superspeed.
As he ran towards the building, the rain pouring down heavily, the wind blowing fast, he looked upwards at the tower, then noticed the fast wind was blowing prices of falling wreaking from the tower in his direction! As the wreckage came upon him, he ran leftwards and rightwards, missing the chunks as they landed on the road, or ducked down as they landed behind him. As he approached Humdinger Heights, he saw a piece of wreckage near the building wall, saw it was smooth metal, and pointed upwardsa towards the wall. An idea forming in his head, he moved leftwards, aimed and ran directly towards the wreckage, and a few seconds later, he came upon it, ran up it in an instant, and upon reaching the end, he pushed with both feet off the top, leapt forwards into the air, his arms moved out in front towards the wall. Upon impact, he moved his left hand downwards as he held the right hand where it was, moving his lower body downwards, his legs moving towards the wall, and when his feet touched the wall, he began running them upon the wall with his hands, running up the wall of building on all fours! "I'm coming, Ryder!" He yelled out with determination as he idea was working, quickly getting halfway up, before he noticed several pieces of wreaking falling down towards him, manoeuvred himself to the left, letting the first few fall past him, then to the right as several more went past him, and then he saw more pieces fall towards him, but they were of a larger distance from the wall, so he leaned in towards the wall as he came upon them, the pieces falling down above him. As he got three quarters of the way up, he saw somehow a large hole had been blown into the side of the building just above him, and it was too late to move to the sides, so as he reached the tip, he held onto the edge with both hands, moved his legs to make his knees parallel with his stomach, leaned his body backwards a bit, and then pulled himself upwards, his legs bending as they let go of the wall, his hands letting go of the tip as he flew upwards, past the hole, and got just above the top of the hole before he lot momentum, gravity starting to take him, so get moved all four limbs back onto the wall and continued running. A few seconds later, he made it to the top, pushing himself upwards with his hands by holding the edge, moving his body over the roof and landed on all fours, then he looked around, seeing the wreckage of what had held the tower in place, saw on the other side of the ride, the end of the tower, which was accessible.
So he ran at super speed over to it, stopped upon getting inside, looked down the tower, metal beams scattered around, metal beams missing in places, before he ran at normal speed down the tower. "Ryder! Ryder, where are you at?" He yelled out as ran, then suddenly wind blew away half the tower, stopping in his tracks as he came upon the end, a large gap now in between the two half of the tower. He was pretty sure Ryder was somewhere in the other half of the tower, maybe somewhere in the wreckage of the building. He looked over the end of the side of the tower he was on, his eyes widening, his vertigo kicking in, (whispering an 'Oh, God') causing him to gulp and step backwards. He moved about four steps back, before he looked forwards again, his mouth closing and eyes narrowing in determination. "I can do this. I can do this. I can do this!" He said to himself bravely before the beam below him suddenly creaked, making him look downwards with fear, before it suddenly gave away, falling down, Chase going down with it, before he grabbed the end of a beam with both hands, the wind blowing him in the direction it blew, all while he screamed. A few seconds later, the screaming stopped, then Chase pulled himself up back onto the structure, turned around leftwards and looked forwards again. Then he started taking some steps back, his eyes and face showing nothing but shame. "Ryder... Dad." He spoke softly to himself as he stopped, his face looking downwards, falling down onto his knees. He'd never called Ryder Dad before. Then he suddenly remembered what Ryder had told him the other day. "I took you, in because you were the bravest pup I've ever seen." That memory made Chase feel even more shamed, as Ryder had adopted him because he was brave. Well, he wasn't being brace now. Had that bravery gone? Why wasn't he brave? Like his teammates-no-friends? The sentence kept repeating itself in Chase's head, echoing as it was stuck up there, before he removed the mental barriers and let it flow through his soul, his body, feeling warmth, a fire, growing inside him as he looked forwards again, narrowed his eyes. And with that, he lifted his head up, let loud a loud scream as he bent his upper body forwards, stretched his arms out, his hands on the floor, his legs bending up and used his four limbs to run forwards towards the edge, and upon reaching the end he held his hands against the edge, moved his feet behind them, and a second later pushed himself forwards, his legs giving him a big push off the floor, leaving him flying forwards through the air, the rain pattering him as he flew, lighting striking besides him, thunder rumbling above him,as he came upon the other end of the tower.
Coming upon the other end, he grabbed a beam by the metal hull with his hands, his body swinging downwards, keeping a tight grip on his hands. He then pulled himself up and onto the floor, his legs bent as he looked in. "Ryder? Ryder, can you hear me? Dad?!" He asked as he stood up on his feet. Then in the distance, within the building, he was a shaft of light shinning, coming from the left. "Hello?" He heard a hoarse voice that sounded like Ryder's, proving he was here. "Ryder, it's me, Chase! I can see your light! I'm coming!" Chase yelled back as he ran down the tower. As halfway down the tunnel, the passage became darker, the wind and rain died down, indicated he was within the building, he came upon the area where the light was beamed. He stopped, looked rightwards to see a few feet away was Ryder, who was covered in dust and trapped by his legs under a large brick slab, holding his phone (where the light was coming from) in his left hand, his back against the wall. "Someone there?" Ryder asked, before doing a cough. "It's me, Chase." Chase spoke with a smile as he stepped over to him and hugged him. "I can't believe you found me." Ryder said as he hugged back . "You can always count on me,... Dad." Chase replied. But this beautiful father-son moment didn't last long, because just a second later, faint rumbling sounds filled their ears, and as Chase got out of the hug, he saw past Ryder's right were some dangling wires sparking with electricity. "come on. We gotta to out of here." Chase implied urgently. "I can't. I'm stuck." Ryder replied as he tried to move the slab off his legs with his right hand, to no avail. "On three, push as hard as you can with both hands." Chase spoke as he took Ryder's phone in his left hand, Ryder placing both hands on the slab. "One, two, three." Chase counted down, and upon reaching one, Ryder pushed the slab with both hands as hard as he could, letting out a 'come on' before he stopped, the slab having not moved an inch. "It won't budge." Ryder signed in annoyance. Suddenly they heard the same faint rumbling sounds again. "You hear that?" Ryder asked in worry, while Chase looked downwards at his stomach. "Oh, don't worry. It's just my stomach." Chase assured calmly before he looked at Ryder again, his eyes narrowing in determination. "One more try. Together." Chase spoke, before Ryder started pushing with both hands, Chase moving over to Ryder's right, and knelt down and held his right hand against the top edge of the slab, and pushed as hard as he could with Ryder. A few seconds of pushing and straining, the slab finally moved a little bit, and then moved downwards onto the floor, freeing Ryder's legs. "You did it." Ryder spoke with pride, looking rightwards at Chase, who looked leftwards at him. "We did it, Dad." Chase replied with a smile, equally proud. Then Chase hugged him again. "I told you you were a hero." Ryder said back, hugged him back. Then they got out of the hug and Ryder then tried to stand up, but as he tried to put his body weight on his legs, he yelled out in pain, his eyes shutting as he fell downwards back onto the floor on his stomach. "My legs! I think they're broken!" He yelled out in pain with his left arm near his head on the ground, his right arm touching his upper right leg. "Come on, Ryder, sir. Let's get out of here." Chase spoke as he knelt knelt down held out his left hand, Ryder then grabbing it with his right hand, and Chase then pulled him upwards on his left side, held Ryder's right arm over his back and shoulders, and began slowly leading Ryder through the building, the storm continuing to rage outside.
