Chapter Four

No One POV

The ship engaged lightspeed in pursuit to rescue someone in distress. Gary has told Kal and Avacato about the emergency signal that was, Quinn. It was a signal of a soldier in a crisis situation, and instead Gary was blabbering about a love story commencing with him and Quinn.

"I can hear her. The greatest love story in the history of the universe is about to blossom forth." Gary smiled. With his boot on the table and he pointed to the ceiling.

"This is not a love story, this is a rescue and you know that." Kal says slapping, Gary's raised hand down.

"And keep the expectations in check. Quinn, hasn't responded to a single message of yours in five years." Avacato informed, Gary. His expression blackly unrecognizable, but knows business when it comes to rescuing a soldier who's running from the Infinity Guard.

"Right!" Kal chuckled under his breath.

"People get busy." Gary bleated crossing his arms. "I'm busy." Gary claimed to himself.

"For 4 years?" Avacato said mused.

"4 years, 11 months, and 30 days." Gary lamented looking down to the floor speculated if Quinn even got his messages for five years.

"That's five years idiot." Kal told Gary.

"Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't." Gary grumbled.

"It is." Avacato noted.

"But it could not." Gary grinned.

"Disabled transporter is now locked in." HUE announced the three showing a holographic image of a small escaped ship. "Dispatching S.A.M.E.S to secure, Quinn." HUE informed them.

"Over my hard nipples, HUE!" Gary blurted out.

"Ew." Kal muttered disgusted.

"If anyone is saving Quinn, it's me, the captain." Gary declared pointing his thumb to himself.

"Gary, for what is the 9,045th time, you are still a prisoner." HUE told, Gary showing holographic images of makings that counting the accurate 9,045th times.

"I disagree." Gary spat out. "As soon as the crap hit the interstellar fan, I became the captain for real." Gary stated clenching his fist then looking up to the ceiling.

"Calculating, no." HUE said.

"Calculating, yes." Gary replied to HUE pointing at the ceiling and grinning. "I will use these powers to save Quinn." Gary gloated as he runs to the door opening itself.

"One week has been added to your sentences." HUE told Gary adding a week sentence for wanting to save Quinn for himself.

"Frickin what... what... W... what's new, HUE? What's new?" Gary yelled at HUE as he pointed at the ceiling once again. "Now, before I risk my life for the woman I love, does anyone perchance have a breath mint?" Gary asked looking around the room.

"Right here, Gary!" KVN said as he accidentally threw the tictac at Gary's mouth.

Gary chokes on the tictac as KVN flies over to help him by putting his whole robotic hand deep inside Gary's throat. While Avacato nodded his head no in disappointment and Kal crosses his arms over his chest. The two stand there facing the door, Gary left out of, but Kal turns to face Avacato grinning at him.

"If he doesn't come back I'm reading the messages he sent." Kal says as he hoped if Gary doesn't come back if he does. "You can join if you want to?" Kal offered Avacato.
