Rays of golden light pierced through the dark atmosphere. Three years had come and gone since that last trip to Brittlesburg. Adam continued his ways of pestering Bud, but the Wulfe family had become fond of the water bottle salesman.

Like they had finally accepted him. That he was part of their little family.

Warmth settled deep in the hound as he considered that.

Glancing over beside him, Bud smiled.

She looked so beautiful asleep, the sunlight filtering through the bedroom curtains hitting her soft fur the way it did. It turned the cream a pale gold and her purple hair a lighter shade, her natural white shining through in a way that made his heart shudder in utter awe at how beautiful she was.

Kimbra's nose scrunched up as the sunlight hit her eyelids. She rolled over onto her side with a small grumble. Pulling the blanket over her head to drown out the light.

Bud let out a soft chuckle as he watched Kimbra. He knew she'd have to be awake for their date soon enough, so he wanted to go make them some coffee and heat up the cinnamon rolls the two had made together before they needed to leave.

"Good morning, my Sunshine." He singsonged softly while smoothing the blanket down where he knew her hair was.

"Mmmmmmmm I don't wanna get up, Buddyyyyyyy." She shuffled under the blanket to curl further into herself. Willing the day away. All she wanted to do was sleep.

"I know, but if you get up now, we'll have time to eat breakfast together. I can make us hot cocoa with whipped cream and marshmallows if you're not in the mood for coffee."

"Okay, fine since you're so persistent." She said, abandoning her attempts to sleep and opening her eyes.

Kimbra sat up, keeping the blanket around her shoulders. Still hesitant to get out of the warm and soft bed. "And coffee is fine." A big yawn.

"Keep the blanket while we go down. And alrigh-" Bud caught her yawn. "Alright. Coffee it is, then."

Kimbra giggled at his yawn and dragged the blanket with her as she crawled out of bed.

"You taking the bed with you?" He teased her gently. Leaning against the doorway, arms crossed and hair a mess as he watched her.

A sleepy frown made its way onto her face as she blinked at him. "No? That's just stupid. I couldn't take the whole bed with me."

The Samoyed walked by him, rubbing her hand across his face. Trying her best to annoy him. Which didn't work. He was in too good of a mood today and nothing could ruin it.

Nothing at all.

"Did you forget what today was?"

"No, I did not forget our three-year anniversary," Kimbra waited for him in the hallway. Blanket still pulled around her shoulders. "But that doesn't mean we can't sleep in."

"Noooo, we can't. What about my plans? Hm?" Bud turned and sniffled dramatically. "I see how it is. You don't want to be seen out in the public with me. An ugly, lame hound."

"I can't believe you think you're ugly."

"Well, the guy at the baseball game did call me a foggy three, after all..." Bud shrugged as he began to slowly walk past her and into the hall.

"Oh my god, that was years ago, and we were barely even friends then." Kimbra followed him. "Did that actually bother you?"

Bud shrugged. "Mmmmaybe a bit. Or more than a bit." He said while they began to walk down the stairs.
