Today was the day that Bud had made a decision. A big decision. One that could change the entire course of his life for the best (or worst). It crossed his mind several times over the last few weeks. And he had finally come to a conclusion on the matter.

The hound yawned as he sat up, silencing his alarm before it had the chance to go off. Attempted to rub the sleep out of his eyes before getting out of bed.

Today would be the day he asked Kimbra to move in with him.

Bud finally decided to pop the question later that evening. When Kimbra had come over. The two were preparing dinner when the hound finally decided to ask. It took him all morning to finally gather the courage to pop the question.

And a whole bottle of Tums.

Bud wrapped his arms around the Samoyed's waist and pulled her close. He pressed his mouth against her neck, softly kissing it.

But Kimbra was quick to scold him. "Hey! I'm trying to make dinner." She tilted her head away from him, trying to return to stirring the pasta.

"It can wait." Another kiss.

"Buddy, no." She giggled, scrunching her shoulders up as she attempted to push him away. "You're always messing with me when I'm busy."

The hound frowned at that, holding on to her a little tighter with a huff. "I am not messin' with you."

She looked over at Bud for a moment, and glanced down and back up at him again. "I think you are."

"Kissin' is not messin' with ya." He pressed a kiss against her cheek this time.

"It is. Now get out of here and let me cook." She squirmed, still giggling as she tried playfully to get out of the man's arms.

And Bud Flud finally dropped the question, which came out more of a statement than anything. "Move in with me."

That made Kimbra stop entirely. "What?"

"I said, move in with me."

"You want me to move in with you?" She pulled away from him.

The idea quickened her pulse. Move in with him? Is he being serious right now?

Bud didn't stop the grumble of annoyance from leaving him. "Can you let me continue? Please?"

Kimbra laughed at that and placed a hand on the salesman's cheek, "I'm sorry, please do continue."

The hound grinned as he took her hand and held it. "As I was saying, yes, I want you to move in with me."

"Why?"

"Why not?"

She hesitated on giving a direct answer. "You live in the suburbs. It's a longer drive to work for me, and my apartment is much closer to EcoTech."

And it's a massive step for the relationship. Or the fact I've never lived with someone else besides my family before. It's new. It's terrifying. A whole new chapter in our lives. Are either of us ready for that?

"The drive isn't that bad. I do it every day." He huffed, well-aware it was a bad argument. Dropped her hand. "And come on, this place is so much nicer than that dinky apartment of yours." He motioned to his nice and expensive house.

My apartment isn't dinky.

Bud did make a point. Sunset Heights was a pleasant and quiet community. Living smack-dab in the middle of the city always made her feel tired and homesick for her small Alaskan hometown. A change of scenery might be good for her. The annual contract with her landlord was soon to expire anyhow.
