Back to yesterday where we left off.....MoMo's POV
I instantly try to close the door, but he holds it open just in time. "Running, are we?" he says, forcing his way into my house. I walk backward, my heart pounding so loudly I'm sure he can hear it. "Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you... YET," he says in a dark, menacing tone.I stop in my tracks, not because I want to, but because fear has paralyzed me. The memory of him pointing the gun at us the other day flashes in my mind. My chest feels like it's being crushed, my head starts spinning, and I can't breathe. It feels like the walls are closing in on me. The room starts to blur, and before I know it, I collapse to the floor.
Lotrell's POV
Wow, I didn't even have to do anything. She made my job so easy. I stand over her passed-out body, making sure she's really unconscious. Once she's completely out, I inject her with a little something extra to keep her under. Picking her up, I carry her limp body to my trunk. Morton is going to love this I think to myself with A grin plastered on my face. The next day.......
Asia's POV
I walked into school and headed to the LTA room. As I made my way down the hall, I noticed the weird stares. By now, I was used to people staring with all the drama that continuously goes on, but this time it felt different. Usually, people stare out of concern or nosiness, but today it felt like actual judgment. I felt like a zoo animal on display. I kept thinking to myself, what could possibly be the reason for all this staring and whispering?I finally entered the LTA room, eager to talk to my friends about it. But as I opened the door, I realized I was alone—no Kay, no MoMo, and no Dess. In all honesty, Dess hadn't been around much lately, but it just hit me how much our friendship dynamic had changed. Usually, MoMo is the first to be here, and Kay is never too far behind. I took my seat and greeted Mr. Malcolm.
"Hey, Mr. Malcolm, good morning."
"What's popping, Asia?" he said, as he normally does.
"Mr. Malcolm, where is everybody?" I asked, concerned because the classroom was unusually empty, with only two other people there.
"I don't know, probably hiding from you," he joked, and we both laughed.
"Mr. Malcolm, please," I chuckled. Mr. Malcolm is the only reason I still show up to this school. He's like our best friend, always making us laugh and giving us advice when we need it. He's basically our uncle. Since no one was here, I pushed my chair by his desk and annoyed him for the remainder of the time.
After 30 minutes of bothering Mr. Malcolm, the bell rang, signaling the start of the first period. I left but couldn't shake the feeling of concern. I called MoMo twice, but she didn't answer. Oh, she did say she got a man, so she's probably with him, I thought to myself. I called Kay, but she didn't answer either. Oh well, I thought and headed to my first period.
As I walked down the stairs and toward my first period, I saw Jino, Izaiah, and Kareem at their locker. I walked toward them, concerned about where MoMo could be.
"Hey, guys," I greeted them.
"Whassup," "Yurr," "Heyy," they paused their conversation to answer.
"Do you guys know where MoMo is?"
"Nah," "Nope," "No, I thought she would be with you. I was supposed to give her a ride to school today, but she wasn't answering. I thought she probably already got one," Izaiah responded.
"No, it's not like her to not be at school on time," I said, concerned.
"Maybe she overslept or decided not to come today," Kareem suggested.
