Fuck me. I groaned as I woke up from my sleep, it was four in the morning and for some reason I couldn’t get a shut eye.

Remembering the kiss from yesterday made my core instantly wet and I hated it. How can a man have such power over me in such a short time? And that said man gave orders like he was king and didn't listen to anything I said. I wanted to tell him. Tell him everything that had happened to me that day. Not because I needed him to hug me and say it was okay, no. But because I remembered more these past few days and it seems I knew Madelyn more than I initially thought. But after what he had said, I just couldn’t do it. Shit, I need to get out of bed, I have work to go to. Well, I have my things to move from here to the apartment on a Sunday, not work but still.

I found a job like a normal person. The MC ran many businesses and Katarina had asked me what I was good at. The only thing I did well was entertaining and being nice to people, but above all I knew my numbers very well. Katarina thought it would be great for me to work at the front desk of their repair shop.

The shop also had an empty apartment above it, so that would be the best choice. I was so glad Katarina had brought the topic up, or I wouldn’t have done it myself.

I had four more hours to spend now.
After I showered and made breakfast, I went out to the front porch, watching the dark sky with a mug of coffee in my hands. It might be summer but it was still cold in the morning.

A while after, a text lit up my phone and I grabbed it. “You up?” it said and I furrowed my brows in confusion. “Who is this?” I texted back but didn’t get any answer.

“Hey.” I then heard from the front of the porch. Scaring me enough that I almost spilled my coffee on the floor. I looked up to find none other than Rift staring down at me. His back was against the railing of the porch and his big arms were crossed over his chest.

“What are you doing here?” I asked coldly and leaned back on my chair. I don’t have time to entertain him at the moment. “I heard you were moving to the apartment in the repair shop.” he said after a quiet sigh. Yeah right, that’s why he is here. Like I would believe him.

“What do you want, Rift?” I asked, not in the mood for games. “You wanted to tell me something the other day, that’s why you came to my house.” he concluded and I raised an eyebrow. “I did?” I asked in annoyance, it was too late now. My trust was shuttering more and more by the minute. Not that I had much in the first place.

“I am sorry I fucked up.” he continued but I didn’t look at him. I just stared at my mug. “Are you?” I asked sarcastically. No he wasn’t, why would he be? He is a biker who thinks women are there to please and serve him. Fuck him and his apologie. “Yes I am. I didn’t mean to sound like an asshole.”

“You didn’t ‘sound’ like an asshole, Rift. You are one. And please, go away, I have things to load to the car, things to do.” I stood up and turned to the front door, dismissing him. I don’t want to talk to him, I don’t want to even look at him. It hurt too much, and the problem was that I knew it shouldn’t.
