Marina's POV
"Get up." I felt movement on the bed, a soft tap on my shoulder as Nova shook me slightly. "How much did you drink last night?" she asked with a sigh. I would love to know that myself! Seems I went wild. "My head hurts." I groaned in pain as Nova continued to gently shake me. "You need to dress, we have to go meet the guys." she said sternly, in that mother tone of hers and I groaned again.
"I don't want to!" I whined and she snorted at me. "Yeah right. Last night you seemed to want to hang out with them." she fired back and I rolled my eyes. Dammit, my head! "I need aspirin." I said and Nova gave me a glass of water and the medicine after I sat up on the bed.
"How is Anna?" I asked, concerned. She didn't like crowded places and yesterday she was in one of them. "She is okay. Nothing to worry about surprisingly. No killing, no outbursts." I sighed in relief and stood up from the bed. "What?" I asked the 40 year old beauty, "Wanna dress me up?" I continued and she huffed before leaving my room.
I can't believe we all ended up in Blooming Valley of New York and in an MC compound in all the matter. This is actually laughable. I just hope Cici is doing okay, she really did not want to go back to her life, but it seems the MC life is after her whether she likes it or not.
Sighing, I walked down the stairs of the house. I am glad we all live together, the house is big enough for all of us. Five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. And above all a backyard with grass and a porch with rocking chairs! Also, people were around all of the time since the houses were close to each other, this meant we had neighbours and that fact made me ease up a little.
They were all waiting in the living room, as Cici was making us all breakfast, thank god. Nova had sat on the couch sipping on her coffee as she read something in that tablet of hers as Cici came up to me with toast and juice.
"Thank you!" I beamed at her and she smiled at me, shaking her head. "You're such a dork." she laughed and continued bringing the food to everyone. Ricko was sitting on the other couch next to Anna, as he always did and he watched her as she went through a stack of paperwork as she always did every morning. He was very invested at everything the woman did and Nova, his mother always seemed amused by it. Anna on the other hand didn't, she probably wanted to lock that poor kid in a room never to be let out again.
I giggled as Anna caught me staring at them with a raised brow. "What were you up to yesterday night?" I asked her as I sat down next to Nova who smirked to herself knowingly. Oh, this is going to be good! Anna didn't answer, she just rolled her eyes and continued working on whatever those files were.
"Nova, spill it!" I said with excitement as I looked at her, "Weren't you there to see it for yourself?" Cici asked as she sat down on the other couch, her son Franco in her arms. "Marina was too busy flirting with Spade, oh, and Rift." Nova smirked as she continued staring at her tablet. She was mocking me while working, that was common for her. I sighed and slumped on the couch, that name just brings shivers down my spine. I can't believe I let loose even for a moment with that guy, something must be wrong with me lately.
"What?" Cici asked, a concerned look on her face. "You know you shouldn't trust anyone right?" she continued but Nova cut her off. "This is the place we are going to live from now on, making friends is what we should do." she said firmly and Cici wanted to say something but Nova continued, "I know what happened to you Cecilia at your hometown and I know what those bikers are capable of, but that MC you were born into and this one are completely different. These people are good." she said as she looked at Cici, "That doesn't mean you can go around fucking every last one of the brothers though." she reprimanded, staring at me as she raised an eyebrow, "I am not!" I said and Anna snorted, all eyes on her.
"You don't have a right to talk either, the stunt you pulled yesterday says it all." Nova accused Anna, who was now on her feet with the documents in her hand. "I am going out." she said with a growl as she walked up to her room, Ricko following behind her again. "Don't the kids have school?" Anna yelled in frustration from the top of the stairs and everyone laughed. This woman never changes.
"So, what happened with her?" Cici asked, curious now. Nova sighed and dropped the tablet on the couch next to her. "You remember the club president right?" Nova asked, "That hunk with the black hair and broad shoulders, oh! And the only one wearing suits in this place?" I asked with raised eyebrows. "Satan?" Cici asked back and Nova nodded, "Yeah, well, they ran into each other." Nova smirked, "Oh, no!" Cici said. She knew very well how short tempered Anna is, she was probably afraid we'd get kicked out of here.
"Well, they confronted each other, the man standing there with a beer in his hand, probably waiting for her to get out of his face. Anna stared at him, a huff of annoyance escaping her, and I remember that so vividly because the man snatched her wrist in his own annoyance and slammed her to his chest." What? No way did I miss that shit! "Continue!" I barked in excitement and Cici shook her head, "Oh, lord. We're going to have problems again." she said with her own smirk colouring her face now.
"I remember how furious she was at that moment but she wasn't moving, she just stared at him who was looking down at her like he was going to actually kill her." Nova laughed and continued, "Then, as if breaking out of her bubble, she yanked her arm out of his reach with such strength, his beer left his hold and smashed on the floor. Everyone was staring at them with their mouths hanging open like dead fishes."
"Well, I'll be damned." Cici said to Nova and they both exchanged knowing glances. I don't get it! "What does that mean?" I asked in a raised tone, I also wanted to know! "God dammit, why did I miss this?" I groaned in displeasure and slumped back on the couch.
"Anyway. I am going to drive the kids to school, then we all are going to the warehouse." Nova said and I stood up abruptly. "Why? No! I am not going there!" I am not going anywhere near Mr Mc Grunt ever again! "And wait? Since when do we have a car?" I asked, surprised. "Since I bought it." Nova said with a small smile. It seems like we really are settling down this time.
