Chapter 6

The theme for their Nikah was light pink and beige. Ama rushed around repositioning the decorations she set out. We had two fancy chairs and next to them each was a small couch. There were light pink flowers everywhere! I was wearing a pink lengha which was extremely itchy but it was worth it because I looked completely different. Soon guests were arriving. I quickly rushed to greet Arzoo and Maira.

"I told you! Pink was definitely your lip color." I say in victory to Maira.

She rolled her eyes jokingly. She had always complained about not knowing the lip color that was supposed to be her destiny. We joked around some more until Ama came and asked to talk to me for a moment.

"Whats wrong Ama?"

"The photographers! They are late."

"Is Wali calling them?"

"Yes, he's trying to see whats taking them so long. Shano, entertain the guests, I need to find your Aba."

"Last time I saw him he was talking to Uncle Saeed."

I walk out to the living room where everybody was. After saying my salaams to a few Uncle and Auntys and passing out drinks, I make my way back to Arzoo and Maira.

"Hey Shano, why does Wali have to leave for 2 weeks anyways?" Maira asks.

"Yeah like I never really understood what he does." Arzoo says.

"He works in a company that helps educate children around the world by providing their schools with technology."

"Thats goals. Living out your dream and helping the world at the same time." Maira says.

"When is Aiza coming?" Arzoo asked, impatient to see the bride.

"Wait why is everyone going outside?" Maira asked.

"AIZA IS HERE!" I exclaimed.

We rush outside and see Aiza and her family get out of her car. She was wearing a beautiful pinkish peach colored jora.

The photographers snapped photos of her greeting my family. We had already set Wali down on one of the chairs. I could just imagine his impatience to see his bride. It made my heart smile.

Slowly everyone went inside. We set Aiza in my room and waited for the Molvi sahab to come. Finally he arrived and then the serious part came in. All the woman sat in my room as we waited for the commitment part. The Molvi sahab is supposed to ask three times "Aap ko qabool hai? Do you accept this?" And then Aiza has to reply "Qabool hai. I accept." 3 times. After this, the Molvi leaves to where Wali and the other men were, the women congratulate Aiza. They give one another mithai and hugs. When I reach for the Gulab Jamun, Ama throws a disapproving look at me but shakes it off when Arzoo's mom, Shaista Aunty, gives her another hug.

Finally it was time for Aiza and all the woman to go downstairs. It was time for Aiza and Wali to be together for the first time as a married couple. Of course, the photographers went down first, to take a picture of Wali when he sees Aiza. We all started to walk downstairs, Ama and her mom standing right next to her. When Aiza sat down in her seat, Wali's jaw nearly dropped. She looked so beautiful and I couldn't stop adoring at how beautiful they looked together.

"Mashallah"s went around the room as everyone smiled at the newly weds. While people were taking turns taking pictures with the couple, Aiza looked over and beckoned me over to her. I sit down with them and smile for a picture or two.

"So are you ready for tomorrow?" Aiza asked, her eyes showing that she she was thrilled.

The 1st session of dance practice was tomorrow. I was ready, HELL YES.

"More than ever." I replied.

"Whats tomorrow?" Wali asked.

"Oh nothing." Aiza said.

"Honey, if your secretly planning a surprise bachelor party with my friends than you know I have no problem-"

"Wali we talked about this remember? I'm not planning any bachelor parties."

"But if you ever reconsider just know that I am totally-"

"Wali, no. No bachelor parties."

"Awww."

I smiled at how adorable their relationship was.

Why is it that inspiration to write always strikes me at this time? 😂

Anywho, I've been watching Pretty Little Liars. Who is you guy's favorite character? Mines is Spencer because she's smart and ambitious just like me 😈🙌. Just kidding, I'm a mouse that lives in your basement 🐭 and Mickey is my cousin.
