Being different never really meant that things would get any better. You might be thinking being different means you might be treated with special care or something like that but that is never the case. Being different meant that you had to try your best to act normal.
In my case, though, being different was the normal norm. The people surrounding me defied the usual norms of the world and each and everyone was, to be described in a single word, unique. In the type of life that I lead, being different and unique was what kept you alive and kicking. Because otherwise there just might arise a situation where being normal could, in simple words, lead to you kicking the bucket.
On the surface, the people around me are, as the others presumed, the spoiled brats of one of the most funded and richest educational institutions in the town. But that was all just a facade so that people like me could survive and stay alive in the midst of all those people who fought against anything that was thought to not be normal.
